Met My New Husband

Me and Pat in my driveway November 9, 2025

Pictured with me is my new Canadian husband Pat (76). We were married on November 4th this month. Tis picture was taken as we returned from my 84th birthday dinner on November 9th. Second marriage for me, first marriage for him. He's conservative (likes Trump) and I'm a raging liberal Democrat. I love this guy to death and he me. We don't talk politics, our love for eh other is stronger than political affiliations. He does think we fly a lot of American flags here in the USA. This is my flag.

What I Learned In Army Basic Training

Me, Army Basic Training, Fort Dix, New Jersey January 1960

Me, 18 years old, Ft. Dix New Jersey, basic training January 12960. One of the very first things that was drummed into my head during basic training was the USMC code that instructed us not o obey illegal orders. We were each given the USMC booklet. I still have that booklet and I still believe that service members are not to obey illegal orders, from anyone including a convicted felon and an adjudicated sexual abuser who just happen to con his way into the presidency of the United States.

No Kings Protest Moron - FAFO

"Ride your bike you fucking fag!"

Check out this video from Denver Colorado where a MAGA Moron was trying to antagonize No Kings demonstrators yesterday. Talk about Fuck Around and Find Out. Click HERE.

I wasn't able to attend my local No Kings demonstration here in Rehoboth Beach yesterday because of my sore leg but I will do everything in my power to attend the next one. And believe me, there will be a next one.

Let's make this MAGA Moron famous.

No doubt Trump will have this asshat over to the White House to award him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Democratic National Convention 2024 - Let The Joy Begin!

The Democratic National Convention begins today in Chicago.

I have been eagerly anticipating this convention ever since Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race. Before he dropped out, I wasn't going to watch the convention. First I can't watch him talk. He doesn't actually talk now, he whispers. And then all the stuttering, and slurring, just too much for me to sit and endure. Joe never was a good orator. And he has a habit of ending some of his pronouncements with "No joke" or "I'm serious" (like he wasn't before)?

It's over Joe. No joke.

Joe will be speaking tonight. Wasn't his plan to speak on the first night of the convention, that's for sure. Of course he'll be lauded as "the hero" for stepping aside for a younger candidate who would get the Democratic base fired up but actually he was pushed out. He knows it, and everybody else knows it but we will go through with the charade that Joe made "the big sacrifice" by deciding not to run again. Word has it that he is really pissed at Barrack Obama, Chuck Schumer and especially Nancy Pelosi for shoving him out the door. This is the problem with too many of our career politicians, they don't know when to leave. This isn't a just a Republican problem, Democrats are guilty of this too. Diane Feinstein had to die in office before she vacated her seat. And the most selfish has to be former Supreme Court Justice the sainted Ruth Bader Ginsburg who would not retire even though she has several serious illnesses. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is why this country now has a 6-3 Republican conservative political hack majority on the Supreme Court. Thanks for nothing Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

HOPE AND JOY!

Now for the good news! Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have arrived in Chicago. The enthusiasm is off the charts for Kamala and Tim. We as a country are so relieved to finally have a reason to vote for Democrats. I have to admit at first that I wasn't sure about Kamala, I didn't think she was serious enough but the last three weeks have proven me wrong.

SHE IS PRESIDENTIAL

She looks presidential.

She walks presidential.

She talks presidential.

And she can handle hecklers.

Speaking of which, the demonstrators are out in full force in Chicago, determined to disrupt the convention. I remember watching the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago. Or should I say "The Riot In Chicago". They were the anti-war demonstrators. Those had a reason to demonstrate because they didn't want to be drafted into fighting stupid war in Viet Nam. I was glued to my TV set watching those horrific scenes on my black and white TV. I was so angry the way Mayor Daly and his Chicago thugs (the Chicago police who literally rioted) handled the demonstrators. I'm no Lefty myself and I would have went to Viet Nam if I was ordered to when I was in the Army, in fact I had that option but I turned it down (I got out of the Army after a three year enlistment from January 1960 to 1963 and was offered $1,300 to extend my service for a year as a warrant officer communications intercept - I would be in the back of one of those helicopters intercepting communications on the ground - after I heard what happened to the survivors of those helicopters crashes (private parts cut off, stuffed in mouth and dead body tied to a fence as an "example"), I decided not to accept the "offer".) My apologies for being so graphic but that was the real world back then, maybe gives one the context of what being in Vietnam was really like).

Back to the Democratic Convention, the other Democratic luminaries like former president Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton will also be speaking (I'll probably skip those speeches too, Bill is always so pleased with himself and Hillary is......just boring) but the Big Event is Wednesday when Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz speaker accepting the nomination (isn't he great?)

and then Thursday when Kamala accepts the Democratic nomination for president of the United States. Not only will she be the first woman president of the United States but she will be the first black woman of southeast Asian (Indian) descent.

We're in historic times folks. I am so happy that I am alive to experience all of this. For too long I thought this was our fate. Thank God we avoided this mess.

This is OUR "Project 2025" folks, the new First Couple in the White House this January!

I Know What I Saw

Biden is staying in the presidential race.

Biden said "Unless God Almighty tells me not to, I'm staying in the presidential race."

Talk about hubris.

Talk about being out of touch.

Click this link to refresh your memory how president Biden did in the debate. A debate that he requested to show how strong he way. Click HERE.

Now I understand that some who read this blog disagree with me. That's fine. We live in a country that we can disagree with each other. At least we do now, that is unless Trump and his Project 25 plan is elected to the office of the presidency. By the way, make no mistake about it. I despise Trump and will vote for anybody or anything that opposes Trump's election to president. That perhaps is why I am so upset and disappointed in Biden and his staff in lying to us about Biden's physical and mental capacities.

National Equality March Washington DC 2009

On this Fourth of July, I was in a quandary what to write about first.

Of course anyone who is following American politics knows that a convicted felon (Trump) is running for president. He has promised to be a "Dictator on day one." Take him at his word. One of the few true statements that Trump has made.

You also know that the Democratic candidate for president, Joe Biden, is too old to run for president. He demonstrated that clearly at the presidential debate. There is no getting around it, Joe Biden IS TO OLD.  He cannot communicate effectively, and to run and be president that person has to be able to communicate. Joe Biden cannot communicate now. That debate was painful to watch.

Neither one of these candidates, Trump or Biden, should be running for president. But they will and I am very worried about where our country is going.
Very worried.

Thus I harkened back to the "good old day" when I participated in one of my few demonstrations for gay rights.

I attended the first equality march in Washington D.C. in 1979. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of that march that I attended. I was going to take my camera but decided not to because I was fairly certain that I would be arrested and my camera destroyed. That didn't happen and I've regretted ever since I didn't take my camera with me. God knows I take my camera with me just about every other place I've attended. An opportunity missed. However, I have vivid memories of that march. Those were tense times.

When my friend Bob C. asked me to go with him to the 30th Anniversary March for Equality in Washington D.C. I readily accepted. This time I had my camera with me. And I took plenty of pictures, some of which are included in the video slide show that I prepared and posted at the beginning of this blog post.

This slideshow reminds me of the freedoms we sometimes take for granted in our country, the good old USA. Those freedoms are on the chopping block now if Trump and his traitorous enablers (including the corrupt Supreme Court) succeed in putting this convicted felon back in office.

God help us is that happens.

Happy Fourth of July everyone, I hope we can celebrate it again next year with our freedoms intact.

Trump Indicted!

Yesterday was one of those days I will always remember when I heard historic news.

The historic news yesterday was Donald J. Trump became the first American ex-president to be indicted for criminality.

I was out back in our yard about 5:30 PM laying a wheelbarrow of mulch when I heard my iPhone vibrating in my pocket.

I put my shovel aside and pulled off my garden gloves to pull my iPhone out of my pocket. I saw the call was from my former school classmate and longtime lifetime friend Stuart M. from Boca Raton Florida. The same Stuart who is seriously considering moving from the United States to Denmark to get away from the mess that our country is in now with the cowardly, venal and corrupt Republicans who continue to support and enable The Criminal Trump. Stuart has friends in Denmark and had recently returned from a three month sojourn in Denmark and Europe. He asked me if I wanted to accompany him to New York City to take a picture of former president Trump doing a perp walk. He sensed my puzzlement and then said "You haven't heard? Trump was indicted today."

No, I hadn't heard which surprised him because he knows how I am almost continuously plugged into the news with my Twitter account and TV background noise when I'm in my house (MSNBC, none of that trash Fox News ("Faux") in my house.

I told him I didn't hear but that I was glad to hear this news.

Finally! In my lifetime I'm actually going to live long enough to see The Criminal Trump be held accountable for at least some of his criminality.

Are we a nation of laws or are we not?

Are we a nation where no man (or woman) is above the law?

I was seriously beginning to doubt that concept until yesterday.

Last night, for the first time in a long time I had a very restful and satisfying sleep.

Today the venal and cowardly Republicans who have enabled The Criminal Trump are squealing like stuck pigs. They don't even know what the charges against Trump are but they wailing "Political persecution!" "Banana republic!" "Witch hunt!" They are so craven. So willing to sell their souls to a soulless monster just to stay in power. They all took an oath to the Constitution but apparently the Constitution means nothing to them. Only their selfish quest for power and money fuels their loyalties. They sicken me.

Yesterday will be one of those days when I will always remember where I was when I heard this historic news.

We have a long way to go before a jury passes judgement on The Criminal Trump, who has led a lifetime of crime and almost gotten away with it.

Let the cowardly Republican pigs continue to squeal but I will go to bed tonight with the knowledge that maybe there is hope for our country yet.

Georgia Voters React To Walker In New Warnock Campaign Ad

Folks, I try to restrain from getting too political on my blog but I just couldn't pass up this new campaign ad against Herschel Walker, the Trump picked Republican who is running for senator in Georgia. First of all Herschel doesn't even live in Georgia (he lives in Texas). Yeah, that works out real well Trump. Remember how Trump chose Dr. Oz, who lives in New Jersey to run for senator in Pennsylvania?

Today's MAGA Republicans and their cowardly enablers, have truly hit rock bottom with Herschel Walker. My God, the man is dumb as a rock.

Where Are The Heroes?

One type of movie I never see are the super hero movies. Why should I go to the movies to see make believe heroes when we can't get any in real life?

I'm talking about our country today. Our country where everybody knows that our former president Donald Trump tried and failed at a coup to overturn the free and fair election.

I'm talking about EVERY Republican save two who support the BIG LIE. Why do they support the BIG LIE? Because they're ALL COWARDS. Yes, no super heroes among that crowd. Except for Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, NOT ONE OF COURAGE.

There are courageous people in our country but they're not in Congress.

I understand how Trump's cult followers believe his BIG LIE. It saddens me that so many hate Democrats and "the libs" so much that they would forsake our country to a malignant evil like Trump.

But one thing that continues to shock me is the absolute cowardice of all those Republicans in Congress who are afraid of Trump. Afraid of losing their jobs. Afraid of telephone death threats from the Trump Thugs. Well, maybe I can understand the death threats.

So here we are folks. President Joe Biden, clearly past his prime, is leading our country. Senator Joe Manchin and Kristen Sinema are more concerned about being reelected than doing what is right by our country. Biden, perhaps the worst person to communicate to the American public. Biden, who can't complete a sentence without stumbling over his words. Oh sure, he's a stutterer. Well, I was too but I overcame it. I just think Biden is in cognitive decline.

Then we have the anti-vaxers. You know folks when I joined the Army one of the first things they did was give me FOURTEEN vaccinations. I didn't die. I didn't whine about "losing my rights." For chrissakes babies, you're NOT losing your rights when you get a COVID vaccination. You saving your life and your fellow human beings by not passing the virus.

I have to admit folks, sometimes these days I am just exhausted knowing all this information. The Republicans who are obstructionists and majority of whom believe the BIG LIE from Trump, who they know is a liar. Trump, who has led a lifetime of crime and gotten away with it and will continue to get away with it because the feckless Merrick Garland is our Attorney General. Garland won't hold Trump accountable because he fears being seen as partisan. He doesn't want the reputation that his predecessor Bill Barr has as the president's lawyer. Sad Merrick Garland, can't see past his own nose and  see that he is permitting Trump to be above the law.

I feel sorry for young people these days. Dealing with COVID, which will probably be with us forever and the failure of most of our political leaders, of both parties.

My apologies for posting a political post but these feeling have been stirring within me for sometime now and I just had to life the lid on this boiling pot.

The one thing I thought I always had in my life was living in a country that was a true democracy. Where our leaders did the just and fair thing. Those who were evil and broke the law were brought to justice. It so saddens me to realize that real life isn't like that. Trump and his thugs and enablers and the Republicans will continue to get away with destroying our country. I try to get some solace knowing that there are many in our country who are good but unfortunately there are many who are not and they seem to be gaining control. And I despair.

Trump Government Shutdown Looms

Today is also a countdown to another government shutdown, compliments of Donald J. Trump.

Folks, I cannot remember a time in my long life that I have been so concerned about our country.

Trump is threatening a shutdown of government because he's not getting his "wall."  This is the wall that he said Mexico was going to pay for. As usual with a con man like Trump, a bait and switch. And of course his knuckle dragging base (yes, I said it) buys anything he says.

Yesterday Secretary of Defense James Mattis resigned because he could no longer be a part or support Trump's chaotic foreign policy objectives. Trump ordered the pullout of two thousand of our troops in Syria. These troops are supporting our allies, the Syrian Kurds in fighting ISIS.  Mattis was widely recognized by both political parties as one of the last adults in the room in the White House. Trump has succeeded in staffing the White House with sycophants and fools.  I fear for our country. I am not exaggerating, I truly fear for our country. I am convinced that Trump is a Russian tool.

I'm trying to think good thoughts as Christmas approaches but I'm having trouble with the clear and present danger that our country is in because of Trump's reckless actions.

Who is going to save us?  Certainly not the Republicans in Congress who are afraid of a Trump tweet.  What a sad, sad and dangerous place our country is in now.

Our Constitution has a remedy for a president who is incompetent and dangerous, impeachment.  But who would have thought that the Republican members of Congress would be such cowards?

As I type this Trump is having another of his many temper tantrums in the White House. He has summoned the Senate Republicans to the White House to try and intimidate and bully them break the law and go nuclear and only require fifty Senate votes to pass his wall bill.  And why does he want the wall bill?  Because, and this is hard to believe, Anne Coulter and Rush Limbaugh want it.  Yes folks, this is where we are in our country now.  Those two bimbos are dictating presidential policy. And of course Trump is absolutely terrified that he will lose his base.  Trump needs adulation from his base the way a vampire needs blood.

There, I got that off my chest. I was going to write a nice, warm and fuzzy Christmas post but I didn't did I? I wrote another Trump rant.  But folks, I am so concerned about where our country is now and where we're going.

Dangerous times folks.

One Day To Go!

Tomorrow is the day folks!  The mid-term elections have finally arrived.

Here where I live in southern Delaware, we're solidly Democratic (thank goodness) but I'm still voting anyway. I always vote.

I don't vote early, I like the experience of going to the polls and voting in person. To me voting is a privilege afforded to too few in this world. Free elections, sort of (increasing Republican suppression of the vote), in this country.

This election is truly the most important of my 77 years on this planet. Nothing less than our free democracy is at stake. I do not exaggerate. Trump and his enablers have done so much damage since the Russians put Trump into the presidency.

Today I feel like the little kid on Christmas Eve. I an excited with anticipate of good things to happen.  But I have to be honest with you folks, after the results of the 2016 presidential election, I am nervous about the outcome of this election.

Last year I was in Philadelphia with my Canadian Travel Buddy Pat for our annual celebration of my birthday (November 9th).  I had intended to celebrate Hillary Clinton being elected president. Obviously that didn't happen. That birthday was the worst birthday of my life folks.

The Democrats are favored to take over the House in this election. The Senate is another story, they may lose one or two seats. I'm hoping they take control of the Senate too. But I have to admit that I am nervous about this election. That's why I posted this Saturday Night Live video at the beginning of this post. It's not over until it's over folks.

Why I Continue To Work

Representative Lisa Blunt-Rochester and me yesterday at the hotel

Yesterday when arrived at work the hotel, I was again reminded why I continue to work.  Delaware's lone United States representative was just finishing up a meeting at the hotel.  As she walked by my work station I said hello to her and told her "November is coming!"  She said "Yes!" I told her my birthday was in November.  She asked what date (November 9th). I said I am looking forward to a wonderful birthday present of a Democratic sweep of the House.  I asked if I could have a photo of her.  She said "Sure!"  and one of the women in her retinue of five took my camera and took this picture.

I work to supplement my income so I can take my quarterly trips with my Travel Buddy Pat. I also work to stay in the game. Working at the hotel I have the opportunity to meet a lot of people.  I like people. Yesterday was a prime example.  I didn't know my representative would be at the hotel. Thus it was a pleasant surprise when I saw her walking by my work station with her retinue.

There is also something else I find interesting. I've met several politicians and so called "important" people.  I find it interesting how they react to me, someone they don't know.  Some react to me like "Who are you?"  When I introduced myself to a former Delaware governor during my testimony at the Delaware state capitol for marriage equality, he looked at me like I had cooties.  When I introduced myself to another local politician who is the Democratic majority leader at the Delaware house of representatives, he looked at me like "Are you someone important that I should know?"  Thus it was refreshing to meet Representative Blunt-Rochester yesterday.  I didn't get that side-eye look or that look that indicated "Who are you? Someone I should know?"  No, she smiled back at me and engaged me in a brief conversation about my birthday and the oncoming mid-term elections. She was totally natural and friendly.  How refreshing. How nice.  You know what?  I think we need more women in politics.

Good News, Bad News

The good news is that the Chicago Cubs won the World Series.  Congratulations Chicago!

This is the first World Series win for the cubs since 1908.  I know how the Cubs fans feel.  I was living in Philadelphia when the Philadelphia Phillies won their FIRST World Series in 1980.  What a feeling.  Enjoy that once in a lifetime high Chicago Cubs fans.

The bad news is that the polls are tightening in the U. S. presidential race.  I still can't comprehend why so many otherwise reasonable Americans would even consider Donald Trump for president.  The man has proven himself time and time again to be massively unqualified to hold the most powerful job in the world.  Do they actually think Trump will bring back manufacturing jobs to the U.S.?  Really?

Don't they realize that Trump is an opportunist who grabbed onto the justifiable frustration of so many Americans who are tired of "business as usual" with politics?  I'm one of those Americans.  At first I liked Donald Trump and his "break all the china" approach to the Establishment and System.  But once I discovered that he is a con man only taking advantage of gullible, frustrated Americans to feed his own ego, I realized just how dangerous he is.

I've said this before but I just don't get the Hillary Hate Syndrome.  What has Hillary ever done to those suffering from that syndrome?  Of course after thirty years or more of a constant drumbeat by the Republicans against the Clintons, of course they (the Clintons) would be viewed as untrustworthy.  Are they any more untrustworthy than say Paul Ryan, the Republican Speaker of the House who defined Trump as the "classic racist" but yet still will vote for Trump?  Or Senator Marco Rubio of Florida who said Trump is a con man and should be nowhere the nuclear button.  Yet he will still vote for Trump because Hillary is worse?  Profiles in courage, those Republicans.

Folks, I'm just going to try and get through the next few days without listening to the news or get into discussions of the merits of Trump as president versus Hillary.

I'm going to vote next Tuesday then prepare for my annual birthday trip to Philly.  Hopefully I will have a reason to celebrate.

Michelle Obama Speech at DNC 2016

Last night I saw perhaps the best political speech I've ever seen at a political convention ever.

I've been watching political conventions since 1956.  I've seen a lot of political speeches folks.  But I have to tell you last night's speech by Michelle Obama was the best I've ever seen.

I almost missed seeing this speech.  I was scheduled to work at the hotel last night.  But because my garage door is broke (spring has sprung), my car is trapped in our garage. I had to call another co-worker to take my shift last night. Thanks Don!

So, while I was at my computer, updating my online Scrabble boards on Facebook, with my TV as wallpaper, I was half listening to the convention coverage.

There were several good speeches.  Plus all the drama going on about the Wikileaks e-mail scandal at the DNC. But when Michelle Obama was a few minutes into her speech, I had to put aside my frivolous Scrabble games and listen to her.

In case you missed her speech, I have posted it in full at the top of this blog.

Thank you Michelle.

Thoughts On Donald J. Trump

As I predicted in one of my blog posts many months ago, Donald J. Trump is the (presumptive) Republican nominee for the presidency of the United States.

At first I liked Donald Trump. I liked the fact that he shook up the political (Republican) establishment.  Many of the things he said were things I thought.  Jeb Bush was "low energy."  Former Texas governor Rick Perry did get glasses so he "looked smarter."  Marco Rubio was "Little Marco" who was robotic.  Dr. Ben Carson was (and is) a whacko.  Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the Trump putdowns on the Establishment Republican candidates.  Apparently I wasn't alone in my admiration and approval of Trump shaking up the established order.  Trump got more votes in the primaries than any Republican candidate in the history of the United States.

Now I have to wonder if some of those voters are having second thoughts after Trump's pronouncements about the "Mexican judge" who is overseeing the Trump University fraud case.  The judge isn't Mexican.

Then last week, after the horrible mass shooting in Orlando, Florida Trump showed his abysmal ignorance again by railing against the shooter who he said was "born in Afghan."  Actually the shooter was born in Queens, New York, just like Trump.

I think by now it is quite obvious to most level headed people that Trump has a narcissistic personality disorder.  He is a pathological liar.  Even worse, he believe his lies.

Donald Trump is a con man.  He is a fraud.

But you know what folks?  People who continue to support Trump know these facts and will continue to support him.  Of course one of the reasons is that they hate Hillary that much (which I don't nor will ever understand). These people would probably vote for Charles Manson before they would vote for Hillary Clinton.  As I said, I don't understand that hate just like I don't understand the hate for President Obama.

However, I think the other reason I think is that those Trump supporters are so disgusted with our present political system that they would vote for any strong personality who challenges that political system.  I understand that feeling because that is the way I feel too.  But folks, would I vote for Trump?  Not on your life and nor should you if you care about our country.

One thing is for sure, the next five months are sure going to be interesting as the Republican leadership twist themselves into knots supporting a candidate that they clearly know is  certifiably insane.

Free Hugs

No judgements here folks, but I wanted to post this video because it just made me feel good.

These days when there is so much divisiveness, anger and loss of hope, some times I just want to see something that brings out the goodness in people.  This is one of those videos.

Saturday Rant

Four Rethuglicans who can't wait to destroy this country should they get into power - Evil, evil, evil

Just got off the phone with my insurance company. So frustrating with these automated phone systems.  The good news is that I don't need my landline anymore while waiting for the "Your call is important to us" now wait a half an hour like you have nothing else to do while we try to straighten out OUR mistake in billing you.

Folks, the main reason I had a landline was for those time I was put on hold.  Which, is as you all know when you call for HELP you're ALWAYS put on hold and hear the message "Your call is important to us" now wait while we f--k you over by wasting your time.  Oh, they have a new thing now, they'll call you back because "We realize your time is important to you and we want you to keep your place in line so we will call you back, just press One."  Uh huh, I press "One" and still get an automated call back and I STILL have to wait.  Then I still had to wait another twenty minutes until I got a live person on the phone.

"Your call is important to us" Sure! Then why am I kept on HOLD so long?

So frustrating.  Well, at least I got them to back out the mistaken charge they put on my bill.

Talk about frustration.  Have you all bee following the presidential contest?  First of all, the Republicans.

Check out the photo atop of this blog posting.  What a sorry bunch of liars, phonies, and egotists.  And now Trump has brought us to a new low.  I used to think he was amusing.  Now he just scares the hell out of me.  And as for the rest, really folks, is this the best we can do?

On the Democratic side (and yes I say "Democratic" and not "Democrat" as the evil Rethuglicans like to spout these hate filled days).  Hillary is going to get the nomination.  I don't even listen to any of the DEMOCRATIC coverage.  Nada.  I like Bernie Sanders but seriously folks, you think he can get anything done with Congress as long as it is controlled by the Rethuglicans who want to privatize both Medicare and Social Security so their Wall Street masters can have access to that massive honey pot of money so they can even further engorge enrich themselves at the expense of the middle class?

Oh I know all about the Hillary Haters (frankly I never go that but who am I to judge as Pope Frances said except when he met with homophone Kim Davis but I digress).

You know folks, I actually think that the Orange Faced Liar

should be the Republican nominee.  The White House has to stay in Democratic control to prevent the aforementioned further dismantling of the social safety net.  I have an immediate interest here folks because I DEPEND on Medicare and Social Security for survival.  You want to save Social Security, take the cap off of the earnings limit and so the billionaires like The Reptilian Monster can pay their fair share of taxes.  God knows they have benefited massively from the American system already.  They won't miss those extra dollars so Melania can buy another two hundred pairs of shoes.  Oh yes folks, we have our own Imelda Marco right here in River City.  But I digress.

The new First Family - a stuffed lion - really?

The good news.  I'm going to Philly tomorrow to see my friend Don McK.  Good to get away from this mess that's on TV.  I need to clear my brain.  Sort of like a flush out.

My Take on the 2016 Presidential Race After the New Hampshire Primary

Okay folks, I know many of you have been wondering where I stand on the presidential race.  The clamor for my views has become almost unbearable so here goes.

Last night as we all know was the New Hampshire Primary. You know that one folks, where many of the New Hampshirites (is that the plural for residents of New Hampshire?) are undecided. You know folks, I got so sick of the wall to wall media coverage (I watch MSNBC) of the "undecided" New Hampshire voter. Seems to me like many of them want the candidates to lick their ass right up to the voting booth.  And then once they're in the voting booth, have an option to vote "Undecided." But the voting is over (even if all the ballots aren't counted).

And the WINNERS ARE:

Republican: Donald J. Trump

Democrat:  Bernie Sanders

So here is my take folks,  this coming from a former conservative Republican now a bleeding heart liberal Democrat (blame George W. Bush and his Republican war criminal accomplices for trying to take away my VA benefits when I had no insurance back in 2000 for my political conversion).

Donald J. Trump:

While I like the way Trump is shaking up the establishment, let's face it. The Donald is an egoistical bully and a fool.  I think even he is surprised at how far he has come in the presidential race.  I don't believe for a moment that he actually wants to be president. He's just feeding his ego by running for president. While he is entertaining and I certainly do enjoy his putdowns of his feckless Republicans rivals, there is now way he can deport eleven million undocumented immigrants from Mexico.  And other comments he has made are just as ridiculous.  So let's just enjoy the Donald J. Trump Cirque du soleil Show and rest assured he will never be elected president of the United States.  But on the outside chance that he is (and that is always a possibility, no one person could ever be worse than George W. Bush. Small consolation I know but consider.

John Kasich:

The curmudgeonly governor of Ohio who finished a surprisingly second in the New Hampshire primary.

Kasich is certainly experienced and he is no fool like Trump but are we really going to elected a man president who has the temperament of a curmudgeon.  The last time a curmudgeon ran for president he lost badly to that upstart junior senator from Illinois.  He's still not over it.
Senator John McCain - Angry Old Man

And another negative about Kasich, his posture is awful.  His posture looks like mine. We want a president who stands tall and who has a cheery demeanor.  No stooped

curmudgeons need apply.

Ted Cruz:

Rafael Edward Cruz - born Calgary, Canada
"Ted Cruz", the Texas senator from Canada (oh yes, he was a Canadian citizen up until 18 months ago when he decided to ditch his dual citizenship and run for president - so much for the Republican "birther" argument against Barack Obama's legitimacy as president - more Republican hypocrisy)

Cruz is evil incarnate to me.  There can be no good to come of Cruz being president.  He would literally destroy this country, make no mistake about it.  He, along with Karl Rove are perhaps the most despicable human beings ever to trod on American soil and be involved in the political process.  Ted Cruz is Joseph McCarthy reborn.

Jeb Bush:

John Ellis "Jeb" Bush

Third in line in the political ruling class family of the Bushes to take over the country for their corporate masters. Donald Trump has effectively emasculated Bush by calling him (correctly) "low energy."  Bush, who appears to be a nice man, is so boring, probably only exceeded on the boredom scale by that previous Democratic nominee John Kerry.  Jeb's mom, the must respected Barbara Bush had it right when she said, when asked last year if Jeb should run for president said "We've had enough Bushes".  You should have taken your mom's advice Jeb and not run because you're a LOSER.

Marco Rubio:

Ah SweatyMarco, finally exposed at the last Republican debate for the phony that he is after he robotically repeated his anti-Obama talking point FOUR times, even after he was called out on it by fellow Republican rival Chris Christy.  Marco is so consumed with his own ambition he didn't even realize until last night when he came in FIFTH in the New Hampshire Primary what a disaster his robotic performance at the debate was.  Clueless and he will disappear, becoming a footnote in the Republican campaign history.

Oh I know there was a certain portion of the Republican electorate who was enamored of his "boyish good looks" and "political skills" but man oh man, who wants a sweat hog like this for president?

Chris Christie:

"Yeah! I'll take another slice of that pizza!  In fact give me the WHOLE pizza!"

The Fat Boy Bully from New Jersey.  The best thing Christy did was to call out the robotic Marco Rubio at the debate.  Other than that service, Chris Christy was toast after Bridgegate.  I heard this morning he's going back to New Jersey to "reevaluate" his campaign.  As the airline hostesses say when you leave the plane "Buy, buy!"

Carly Fiorina:

Donald Trump had it right first when he said "Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president? I man, she's a woman, and I'm not s'posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come one. Are we serious?"  I know it's not politically correct folks (and just one more thing I like about Donald Trump, his offenses against political correctness) you do have to admit he hit the mark this time with his observation of Carly.  And have you heard her speak?  God, that shrill schoolmarmy voice.  Besides, she's another loser.  She ran Hewlett Packard into the ground during her disastrous tenure as CEO of that same company.

Just imagine - thank goodness she has no chance of becoming president
Ben Carson:

The former brain surgeon who is always showing us his hands (we get it Ben, you were a brain surgeon) is (thankfully) pretty down the totem pole on possible presidential hopefuls in the Republican field candidates.

Listening to Dr. Carson trying to fake (double talk) his was through foreign policy questions during the Republican debates was actually embarrassing.  Poor slow Ben, even at the last debate he didn't know when to enter.  Ben Carson, another Republican candidate footnote in history. Go back to writing books Dr. Ben and collecting those big speaking fees trashing President Obama. Lot's of money to be made on the Hate Obama Circuit.

Rand Paul:

Who?  Oh, that senator from Kentucky who cuts his own hair (can you tell)? I could never take him serious because his mouth reminds me of a Baboon's ass.

Senator Rand with his signature baboon ass pursed lips

And no, I'm not going to post a picture of a baboon's ass. This is disgusting enough, posting a picture of Rand.

Mike Huckabee:

The Christian evangelist who would put a Final Solution to gays like me.  Need I say more? Huckabee will return to his safe harbor of fellow evangelical Christians like Kim Davis who gain their celebrity (and money) by their vitriolic hatred of gays (like me).

"Good Christians" both - thriving in their hatred of gays

Rick Santorum:

Former Pennsylvania Senator (and loser) Rick Santorum
Yet another perennial Republican candidate for president and another Gay Hater (he equates gays with bestiality - "man on beast").  Thankfully this is the last year he runs for president.  It was becoming painful listening to him trying to twist and turn his way out of his "man on beast" comment when trying to justify his "family values" that only straights are allowed to love and have a family.  Like the airline stewardess said "Buy! Buy!"

George Pataki:

A joke who had absolutely no reason to run for president even if he did get a new set of choppers.

George Pataki, to me, with that always pained look on his face looked like a man who hasn't had a bowel movement in a week.

Now could you imagine looking at THAT face for four years?

Bobby Jindal:

Remember his response to the State of the Union speech a few years back?  He showed himself for the pandering fool that he is.  Resume sounds good Bobby (son of Indian immigrants) but this is one stupid man.  Totally clueless as to what a doofus he is.

Now for the Democrats:

Hillary Clinton:

I never bought into the whole Hate Hillary narrative over the years.  I think she is experienced and qualified and would, actually, make a good president.  But I have to tell you, she doesn't enthuse people and she has that HUGE (UGE) liability of the Big Dog (Bill Clinton).  This is the same Bill Clinton who sought the support of gays like me when he first ran for president them promptly threw us under the bus with his enactment of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law for gays in the military and signing DOMA, which outlawed marriage between gays like me.  By the way, both laws have been repealed as they should have been and never been enacted in the first place.  I have never forgiven the slippery Clinton since that time.  I just stopped listening to him.  And these days when I think of Hillary in the White House and the Big Dog just an arm's length away, I have to tell you that does not make me feel comfortable.

Bernie Sanders:

So what is a 74 year old white man, who isn't even a Democrat but a Socialist doing running for president and winning the New Hampshire Primary by a UGE margin?  Well, for one thing he says all the right things.  This country has been taken over by the Corporate Masters of Congress and the disparity between the Ruling Class (the upper 1%) and the rest of us down here in the Great Unwashed.  Bernie has awaken a political revolution which I know probably scares the poop out of some people.

Well, first of all is 74 too old?  Now careful because I am also 74 years old but I don't have all that white hair but I do have a white beard (when I'm not using Just for Men beard coloring, which reminds me I have to do a touch up before I go to work this weekend so I look attractive behind that hotel front desk, but I digress).

Bernie may just win the Democratic nomination unless Hillary can come up with a good reason why she is running for president other than she "will do a good job."  Bernie wants to increase Social Security (I'm all for that, losing ground her folks with the bills), more taxes on the rich (oh how I would love to see people like the guy who owns Papa John's leave this country which threatened to do when Obama let the rich tax rate lapse to 39%).

I heard Bernie's acceptance speech last night and I have to tell you folks, that was one of the most genuine speeches I have heard in a long time.  Unlike all the poll tested, teleprompter, speeches written by overpaid speech writers that most of the other politicians revert too (with the exception of Donald Trump who speech mainly consists of him bragging about himself and making the empty promise of "Making America great again!", Bernie's speech made me feel good.

Are his claims realistic?  Probably not.  Heck, look at the roadblock President Obama encountered from the Republicans, dedicated to making him a failed president, on his first day in office.  What do you think they would do to Bernie?  But you know folks, we have to elect a Democrat president, be it Hillary or Bernie because we can't take the chance that a Republican will hold the presidency and thus have the power to appoint Supreme Court nominees.  If that Doomsday scenario happens (more Republican appointed Supreme Court justices like Antonine Scalia, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas); we will descend into a Darkness the likes of which we cannot imagine.  Just think, Roe versus Wade repealed.  Same sex marriage repealed.  Don't Ask, Don't Tell reinstated.  More wasteful wars that kill and maim our young men and women, thus creating horrendous medical costs for years to come.

Considering that possibility folks, even I could live with the Big Dog back in the White House.
