Second Presidential Debate Aftermath

Did you watch the debate last night?  I did.

It was embarrassing wasn't it?  Did you ever in your life think you would see anything like that?  I didn't.

Put aside who "won" the debate.  The Trump supporters will say Trump won.  The Hillary supporters will say Hillary won.  However, here are some of the indelible images I will take away from the debate:

  1. Donald Trump threatened to jail Hillary Clinton if he is elected president.
  2. Donald Trump placed four women accusers of Bill Clinton in the audience.  Note:  Bill Clinton isn't running for president.
  3. Donald Trump lurked behind Hillary Clinton most of the night during the debate thus creating an image of the Lurking Stalker.
  4. Donald Trump claimed that his bragging about grabbing any woman's genitals because he's a "star" was just "locker room talk."

Here is my takeaway from the debate last night:

  1. Donald Trump reinvigorated his base
  2. Donald Trump didn't gain any additional women voters
  3. Donald Trump cemented his reputation as a braggart and a bully
  4. Donald Trump is totally unfit to be president of the United States

Now this is the part where I'm supposed to say "Hillary isn't perfect but she is the only alternative."  Well, I'm not going to say that.  What I am going to say is:

"Hillary Clinton is the MOST qualified individual EVER to run for president of the United States."

So fasten your seat belts folks. Donald Trump knows that he has lost the presidential race, and to a woman.

Donald Trump is a tired, old and overweight old man. And he is ANGRY.  He's losing.  And to a WOMAN.

As depressing as it was to watch last night's debate at least there was one good thing to come out of it.  Now we know that his repulsive monster will never be president of the United States.

Trump Goes Nuclear

An hour before the second presidential debate tonight, Donald Trump called the press in a meeting room at the hotel where he is staying.

The photo above is what the press saw.  Four women who have accused former president Bill Clinton of sexual assault.

Folks, a chill just went down my spine.  Not because Trump is parading these women, whose charges have never been proved, but because a major presidential candidate would sink so low to do such a thing.

I am ashamed for this country.  Not because of Bill  Clinton and his sexual past but because the Republican nominee has sunk to such depths.

Here's a message for Donald Trump and his supporters:

BILL CLINTON IS NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT

The Big Debate Tonight

The second presidential debate is tonight.

Incredibly, this debate is expected to have even more viewers than the first presidential debate.

And why is that?  Because of the recent revelations by the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump being caught on an open mic bragging about sexual assault on women.

Trump is threatening to bring up Bill Clinton's  sexual behavior of thirty years ago at tonight's debate.  Of course Bill Clinton isn't running for president but in Trump's world, he thinks this will help him win the presidency.

Every day more Republicans are withdrawing their support of Trump.  Some have said they're not voting for him.  Others are calling for Trump to withdraw from the race.

I for one will be glued to the TV tonight.  One thing is for sure, Donald Trump does entertain.  I have a theory that Trump is actually enjoying all this attention, even though it is negative.  Remember what Donald Trump has said about publicity . . . . "all publicity is good publicity."

Who Won the Debate?

Did you watch the debate last night? I did with about one hundred million other people.

Who won the debate? My immediate reaction was that Hillary won the debate because she was better prepared.  Donald Trump was clearly unprepared and ran out of gas after the first ten minutes.  He retreated to his, sometimes, nonsensical answers.  He interrupted, made faces and generally reinforced the notion that he was temperamentally unprepared to be president.

But you know what folks?  I don't think there will be a significant change in the polls after this debate.  And certainly he didn't lose any of his supporters.  They know their candidate.  And they accept him as he is.

I took off work last night to watch the debate uninterrupted.  I didn't waste my time.

God! Would't you like to read their minds during this handshake?

Clash of the Titans

Godzilla

Only one more day folks until

THE DEBATE

Of course you all know what I'm talking about.  The televised event that is predicted to be the most watched televised event since the moon landing, the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Are you ready folks!  I am!

I even took tomorrow night off of work so I wouldn't miss one second of this face-off between two of the most disliked candidates for the presidency of the United States in our modern history.

Notice that I posted a photo of the most feared monster of our times, Godzilla.  I'll leave it up to your interpretation as to who Godzilla is.  I for one know who Godzilla is in my world should HE become elected president.

Romney Gets His Ass Handed To Him

Where's Clint?
Hey folks!  Did you see last night's presidential debate?  Sure you did!  Well, I was going to write a long blog posting about it but decided instead to just post photos with captions.

Obama: "Oh God, do I HAVE to shake your hand?" Romney: "I'm going to roll over you again!"

Wary gladiators enter the debate arena

Romney:  "I'd like to strap you to the roof of my car"  Obama:  "I'm going to wipe the floor with you."

Obama: "Do you know how you can tell Governor Romney lies?  He opens his mouth."

Obama:  "Oh no you didn't just say that!"

Romney:  "WAW! WAW! WAW!"

Obama:  "Governor Romney, could you stop lying for just one minute?"

Check out Romney's VERY TIGHT smile - this is the smile of a CEO who isn't used to being challenged

The Real Romney - a mean, viscous, soulless CEO who will eliminate your job and take the money saved and put in a Swiss bank account (or Cayman Islands)

President Obama exposing yet another Romney Lie

This is the way a pissed off former CEO looks when his lies are exposed

Anne Romney:  "I can't believe I married this douche"

Michelle Obama:  "Now THIS is the Barack I know!"

See you all in Boca for the Final Round

Weekly Roundup

Yet another very interesting week!  First there was the absolutely dismal performance of President Obama at the first presidential debate.  There I was, ready with my iPad and Twitter account, ready to tweet my emotions out to the Internet.  And then the debate happen.  A manic Mitt Romney who quickly took over the debate, rolling over the moderator, Jim Lehrer.  And then there was our hero, President Obama who looked like he DIDN'T WANT TO BE THERE.  Hey, I'm no debater but I do know the rules of Debate 101, LOOK AT YOUR OPPONENT and LOOK AT THE CAMERA WHEN TALKING TO THE 66 MILLION PEOPLE WHO WERE WATCHING.

All was lost though.  On Friday the new jobs report came out and for the first time in President Obama's administration the unemployment rate fell below 8% to 7.8%.  I was watching "Morning Joe" and thoroughly enjoyed watching loud mouth, big head, resident conservative Joe Scarborough become unhinged when the news came through.  A few minutes later I saw the tweet from that old toad who used to run GE and own NBC, Jack Welch make a total fool out of himself by tweeting:

Jack Welch, for GE CEO and now a Crusty Old Toad

"Unbelievable jobs numbers, these Chicago guys will do anything, can't debate so change numbers"

Mr. Welch, crawl back under your rock. You just made a complete fool out of yourself.  Is it me or shouldn't someone of Mr. Welch's credentials be happy that our country's unemployment rate has fallen?  Or is Jack one of those whose priority is seeing President Obama fail?  Jack, with your tweet you just destroyed whatever creditability you had left.

This week is the vice presidential debate between Vice President Joe Biden and the marathon liar, Representative Paul Ryan.  I doubt if Old Joe will play Rope a Dope like President Obama did.

As you can tell, I LOVE politics.

On Wednesday I went to a memoir writing class at Delaware Tech.  Usually I don't get too much out of classes but this two hour class I learned a lot.  It was held by our local talent and national author and book publisher, Fay Jacobs.  You will see the results of this class in my future writings.

This was the first week in which I didn't have a doctor's appointment.  THAT was nice.  However, this won't last.  Next week I have an appointment with my cardiologist to go over my recent series of tests.  I also have another appointment with my dermatologist.  I'm still paying the price for all those years of sun worshiping.

I worked again only two nights at the hotel.  It is so refreshing to know the certainty of my work schedule.  I was busy but I didn't mind because I knew I was only working two nights and not on call for the rest of the week like I've been for the past year.

My big accomplishment of the week was cleaning up my e-mail accounts.  I had fallen so far behind in my AOL account, I had just given up.  I had a total of 1,789 messages that I didn't read.  Granted, many of them were ads from companies like J. C. Penney, political campaign contribution requests, and genealogy requests.  Buried among all those e-mails were "legitimate" e-mails.  I was embarrassed to find out that the friends who sent me those e-mails thought I had ignored them.  I apologized to them.  My e-mail accounts (I have three of them; also gmail and MSN but I don't use them as often).

Today I planted my fall bulbs and did a some yard cleanup. I am ready to hibernate in Casa Tipton-Kelly, secure from the biting cold winds of winter.

Cleaning Up My E-mail account

Yesterday, during my memoir writing class, I discovered that my instructor also had an AOL e-mail account.  I asked her "How do you keep up with it?"  She said "I clean it out everyday."  I told her that like her, I've had my AOL e-mail account so long that over the years I've accumulated a lot of junk mail.  I do have spam filters but I still get way more junk e-mail than "real" e-mails.  When she told me that she kept current on her AOL e-mail account I felt guilty.  Time to clean out my AOL account!

So since yesterday I've been seated at my computer for hours, reviewing every one of my 1,789 backlogged e-mails.  About 20% of the e-mails are "legitimate".  I apologize to one and all who have sent me one of those legitimate e-mails that I have failed to respond to.  The other 80% e-mails are from companies that I've ordered products from like J. C. Penney and political donation requests.  Tip:  donate to one political campaign and you'll get on at least ten other mailing lists.  If you want to stop those e-mails you have to scroll all the way to the bottom and look for the very small print to unsubscribe (they don't make it easy).

I do have a tendency to accumulate things.  In my closet, in my drawers and in my e-mails.  I still have a room full of unpacked boxes in my basement media room from my move of six years ago from our home in Pennsylvania.  One of these days I'll attack that monster.

So it's time for me to get back to cleaning out the remaining 351 e-mails in my AOL account while listening to the MSNBC pundits commiserate over President Obama's dismal performance in the presidential debate last night.  Anything to take my mind off of that disaster.
