The K-1 VISA Saga Continues

 Pat has returned home.

Downtown Montreal (yesterday)

The six hour plus drive from Montreal to Hamilton completed without incident.

He has cooled over and recovered (somewhat) from the shock and disappointment that he failed in his first appointment with the U.S. Consulate to obtain his K-1 VISA.

I mailed off a copy of Bill's death certificate almost immediately after Pat informed me of this latest hitch in our year long effort to get married. This time I only paid $7. 67 to mail the death certificate. I mailed regular mail and now that the Canadian postal workers are taking a break from their constant strikes and going back to work, Pat should get Bill's death certificate sometime next week. When I had to mail him my certified copy of my birth certificate, I used registered mail. That cost $78! Still took a week to get to him.

I was bummed out all day but I have also recovered. I have to say I'm not really surprised that there was a hitch/glitch. I think both Pat and I felt the same way prior to his interview this morning.

We're concentrating on the positive now. We have each other and we'll plow through this latest roadblock.

Keep on keeping on.
