| The thugs running my country now. |
This morning I went to my local VA Outpatient Clinic for my six month checkup. As I was waiting for them to call me I took this picture of the new leaders of my country (the United States of America) and the new VA Secretary. Notice that Trump's picture is his mug shot that was taken during his arrest in Georgia for asking the Georgia Secretary of State to "find him enough votes" to win the 2020 presidential election in Georgia that he lost to Biden. Here is exactly what he said:
"All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state."
Later in the call, he pleaded with the officials:
"So, what are we going to do here, folks? I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break."
This from Trump, whose whole life has been cheating and fraud.
These three pictures "greeted me" this morning just shows how far my country has fallen.
As I was contemplating the sorry state of my country, I was called in for my appointment. My blood pressure was taken. It was 203 over 83 thus confirming what I have always feared. I'm going to die before my country gets right again.
Shame on those cowardly Republicans in Congress who have betrayed their oath to the Constitution when they were sworn in to provide a check on Trump and his thugs abuse of power. Shame on those who voted for Trump and those who were too lazy to not even vote that have caused this grave risk to the democracy in this country that I (foolishly) always took for granted.
Shame. Shame. Shame.

Maybe you were so annoyed by those pictures and your thoughts that it spiked your pressure? Can you have it retaken when you have prepared yourself to be calm? Olivia

You are right, I was so annoyed with seeing those pictures of the thugs that run our government now. I'm stressed out everyday with what I seeing going on in our country right now. What I'm witnessing now, the cowardice of the Congressional Republicans and the thugs in charge, I would never have believe this was possible in the United States of America, a country where I always took for granted my freedom of speech.

She did retake my blood pressure. It went down to 154, which is still high but at least not over 200. I'm taking blood pressure medicine now.

B.P. 203/83? Gosh that really is high. Until only few years ago I wasn't even aware that readings got over 200. Then I learnt that they can go still MUCH higher than that. And here I am worried whenever my top number very infrequently tops 170 --- 150 being more usual, similar to your own re-take, and yet am, like you also, prescribed daily anti-high BP medication. But how lucky am I yet! Still, your spike was no wonder when you'd just been faced with those three pictures of crazies!

She took my blood pressure right after I walked by those pictures of the thugs that are running the U.S. Government now, including the director of the VA who is a failed hack politician. She was very concerned that my blood pressure was that high. I think she was ready to call an ambulance. I know you are aware of how bad it is in the US now but you really can't appreciate it unless you actually lived here, waking up every morning wondering what new outrage the Orange Jesus has perpetuated on my country. Sometimes I think I'm living in a nightmare. Actually I am.
