I Got My Mind Made Up

I'm really getting in the mood for the Spotacular! Yesterday I worked just about all day on compiling a playlist for the blogger get together that is going to take place March 23rd in Lewes, Delaware. Dr. Spo and Someone, two of my favorite bloggers are flying to Delaware to meet a gaggle of us East Coast bloggers. The caterer is in place, naughty gifts are wrapped and ready to go, and attitudes are adjusted to a great time. Do join us!

Pulling out my old CD's brings back memories of the Seventies and those wonderful years of my carefree youth (interspersed with my banking job of course).  Oh I did have a good time.  I didn't miss much, that's for sure.

For all of you who failed to take advantage of those wonderful, years oh I do feel sorry for you.  As for me I took FULL ADVANTAGE.

I am looking forward to the Blogger-thon later on this month.  I'll relieve some of those wonderful memories and, perhaps create a few new ones.

You've no idea how much I'm looking forward to reading about this gathering in the blogs of every attendee, Ron. I'm sure you'll all have the time of your lives - and I want to see lots and LOTS of pictures showing exactly that. Exciting times indeed!

Ray, you have no idea how badly I wish I was rich so I could buy you a plane ticket over here. We'll all be taking pics and vids and we'll share them with you and everyone. I hope the weather is more spring-like. Right now we're in a cold snap.

I am SO READY to PAR-TAY! I wish more bloggers could attend (like raybeard and peter and wcs).

and even though bill thinks you're being silly, you only live once (or twice in my case) so you might as well go out on a high note, dancing and singing and laughing all the way! :)

I couldn't agree with you more Anne Marie! As "they" say, laughter is the best medicine. Now make sure to bring your dancing shoes to the Spo-a-rama. I have a great playlist that I'm bringing.

Cubby,

I have just about everything set. There will be at least 20 people at the meet and greet. You are going to be the Master of Ceremonies aren't you? Did you have anything special planned?

See those red shoes Anne Marie? They're your dancing shoes! :)

Yeah, smashing furniture, floors, most anything not made of concrete! I'm like an elephant on crutches (and may be on crutches if this knee doesn't finish healing).

ah, but I already have a pair of red dancing shoes! :)

Jay,

You're dancing, simple as that.

I can't dance or sing! Maybe Barry will do both -- he loves these things. But I CAN LAUGH AND HAVE A GOOD TIME!!! Since there will be only TWO (by my count) females there, I guess the guys will be dancing with the guys also!!!

Spo, I think you and Someone should dance to Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries"! I once saw it used as a wedding recessional!

What about adding another hat to your collection by providing everyone who attends with a "Spotacular" cap? Maybe one of the local shops could print them for a lower price druing the off season? You could run a contest on the blog to decide what should be printed on the caps. For example, the date and "It was Spotacular!"...

Ron said...

Already doing a lot Jeff. This is a good idea but I am trying to keep the expenses down. Hopefully this won't be the last "Spotacular." Maybe the next one. Every other year I have a family reunion. I also do the class reunion. All are a success. If the Spotacular is a success, we just may do it again!

Thanks for the suggestion.

David,

We will definitely laugh and have a good time. Camaraderie, that's what this is all about. Good friends getting together and having a good time before our time runs out.

Absolutely Anne Marie, a good time is guaranteed. What until you see what I have in store. I'm not telling. It's a surprise.

Anne Marie,

Don't bring your tambourine, I have one already. Do you know how to shake a tambourine?

Ron,
You are beginning to frighten me with all this mishugas. Don't know what you expect, but I look forward to meeting with folks whose blogs have gifted my life. Paying tribute to the 70s wasn't high on my list for this event, but it's your party.
Still looking forward to the evening.

The music was Anne Marie's idea. We're not actually paying tribute to the 70's, I'm just making a playlist for some musical background. The event is mainly a get together of blogger friends to meet. I have a few surprises (for laughs). Don't get frightened, i's all cool.

don't have a tambourine. but I DO know how to shake my fat ass! :)

anne marie in philly said...

cajun darling, my music selection runs from the 30s (think benny goodman) all the way to today (think maroon 5). quite a range there!

anne marie in philly said...

and what is so wrong about guys dancing with guys? ;-)

some of my boyfriends can shake their bootylicious better than I can!

I LOVE your suggestion about wagner, david!

Ron said...

You tell him Anne Marie! I'm with you, my music also spans the gamut from the 30's to even today. I LOVE Adele. Perhaps the only "music" I don't care for these days is rap. Is rap even still popular? I like most of the other music though although I'm not as familiar with it as I am with the music from the Thirties to the Nineties. I'm not too much a fan of Rave Club music either. Too repetitious for my taste and mind numbing if you listen to it long enough. I don't care for folk music either. Listening to Judy Collins makes me want to kill myself. All that whining.

OK, Anne Marie, at least we share musical tastes. I think we're compatible for a SLOW dance since I doubt my knee will allow anything that resembles BOOGIE FEVER!!!

I have a spare tambourine Anne Marie. I'll bring it!

Ron said...

Okay Jay, I'll add some slow music to my playlist for the Bloggerpalooza. We definitely have to see you and Anne Marie trip the light fantastic. :)

Ron

TRIP is the operative word there, Ron! Light is an oxymoron when referring to me. Fantastic is my adjective for the WHOLE WEEKEND!

BTW, what do you have planned for Friday night for us EARLY BIRDS?

Jay

Ron said...

Jay,

If you arrive early enough I was planning on going to a local restaurant for dinner. They stop serving at 9 o'clock. What's nice about the hotel where I work in Lewes is that you can walk to the restaurants. No driving is required. We have many fine restaurants in Lewes. What time do you plan to arrive?

Late afternoon on Friday - 4 to 5 to 6 PM. With Java and her husband in tow.

I love seafood, all types. In Delaware, on the water, I expect GOOD FOOD!

Jay

Ron said...

Jay,

We can go to Stripper Bites. They have great seafood, just two blocks from the hotel. Right next to the hotel is Gilligans which has fabulous crab cakes and they're right on the water (Lewes-Rehoboth canal). I can send you links to the restaurants.

I've been all weekend in "Parisfal', so please pardon i am late to the party, but I promise to be on time to the Jamboree. Naughty gifts ? The mind boggles. Just don't put any Parsifal on the playlist, I'm full up.

jay, todd and I will also be coming down from philly on friday. gotta make this party last as loooooooong as possible! and yeah, seafood! :)

slow dancing is fine; I just sent ron a couple of suggestions!

Raybeard said...

Thanks for that kind thought, Cubby. Next time, maybe? Here's hoping -.and praying (well, within reason).

Ron said...

Tis my intent Dr. Spo, to boggle your mind. :) And there will be witnesses.

Ron said...

Anne Marie,

You and Todd can go out with Jay and his posse for dinner at Stripper Bites. I may join you. Bill will have to drop me off and pick me up later in the evening because I plan to "have a few."
