Memorial Day Weekend 2026

Today is Memorial Day weekend here in the summer beach capital Rehoboth Beach and environs.

Unfortunately it is also chilly and rainy. That the forecast for this weekend and next week.

The following week Pat arrives from his cozy little home in Hamilton Canada for a two week visit with The Old Man here. I have a number of doctor's appointments which he will take me. I plan to introduce Pat to my doctor's as my eventual caregiver much the same way I did before I became Bill's full-time caregiver. Yes folks, that's the road I'm going down. Time to face reality.

By the way, I'm not sad at all that the weather is dreary and uninviting for the summertime beachgoers. Especially those "kids" from the University of Delaware who have recently targeted the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk for "events." Yes, it is what you think it is. A bunch of unruly "kids" trying to instigate riot or some such thing so they can loot the stores. Hey "kids" I have a tip for you, the stores in Rehobth Beach only have the Chinese made overpriced tourist souvenirs. No high end stores down here "kids." You better stick to Walnut Street in downtown Philadelphia for your riot produced "shopping" expeditions. See HERE:

Have a nice Memorial Day weekend, Ron.

All is well here.

I went out yesterday, my birthday, and treated myself to a good meal. I had a nice stuffed pork chop on a bed of collard greens. The spices were fantastic. They used pickle seed spices. Never heard of it. https://revival-denver.com/denver-uptown-revival-denver-public-house-food-menu, along with the stuffed pork chop, I had fries on the side. I had a take-away of bread pudding and vanilla ice cream. I love me some bread pudding. Better than cheesecake. The pudding was perfect. Not too sweet. I came home, fixed some decaf coffee, and had the dessert. A good day to relax as I become entrenched in old age. No gym.

Today I got up and watched Ali V. on MSN Now, and then off to the gym for 60 minutes on the SkillMill. The SkillMill is a self-propelled treadmill. I am pretty vigorous on the thing, so after 60 minutes I am spent.

I am now checking my blogs to see what's going on.

Have a great weekend.

Happy birthday Vic! Sounds like you had a good day. Enjoy! Rainy weather continuing down here in southern coastal Delaware which is just fine with me. Cuts down on the holiday weekend traffic madness.

Rainy weekends must be a godsend for folks who live in a tourist area, but not so good for the merchants.

That is awesome that Pat will be not only coming down to Delaware, but will be acting as your support person (medically speaking, of course).

Random Thought On A Rainy September Sunday

This morning I woke up to the usual rain and humidity we've been having here at Casa Tipton-Kelly for the last few months of summer. N...
