Yes, I recall her well too. She was well-known in our gay spheres over here at the time which you refer to, giving Florida a bad name. Pity that now, nearly half a century later, that 'bad name' can be applied wider than merely to or mostly to Florida. I'm only surprised to learn that she lasted this long.

Not really a "fan." I just remember I liked her when she was runner-up to one of the Miss American contests in the 50's. She did the orange juice commercials. Then when she came out against the gays, I was so disappointed in her. I was fooled again by a celebrity. Believe it or not I used to like Donald Trump too. Man oh man, how could I have been so wrong?
