"And the award goes to..........."

Me announcing awards at Girard Bank Bowling Banquet - 1973

Oscar weekend folks!  Have you picked your favorites to win?  I have to confess that I haven't seen any of the movies (I wait until they're on Netflix) but I still have my favorites.

BEST ACTOR:

Bradley Cooper

I've seen clips of his role in "Silver Linings Playbook" and I was very impressed.  I know everyone thinks Daniel Day-Lewis has Best Actor locked up but I think Bradley will be the upset winner.  At least I hope he wins.  He is just too gorgeous not to win.

BEST ACTRESS:

Jennifer Lawrence

With all the buzz about Jennifer Lawrence I don't see how she cannot win.  I've never seen her act but I have a strong feeling the tide is in her favor

Me receiving an award as Best Guest Service Representative from Mr. Cordrey, Vice President Hilton Hotels Corp, Epcot Center, Disneyworld, Florida - 2000

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR:

Christoph Waltz:

He is the flavor of the month.  All good nominees but I think the Usual Suspects in this category cancel each other out

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:

Helen Hunt

I would love to see Sally Field win just to hear what she says after winning her third Academy Award but I don't think that's going to happen.  Helen Hunt has this one locked up

BEST PICTURE:

Lincoln.

It won't win any acting award but it will definitely win Best Picture.  Can't miss.

BEST DIRECTOR:

Steven Spielberg

Not even close

Me receiving the 50/50 winnings at the Cheer Center Veterans Day benefit 2004 - ironically I was invited to attend this function at the last minute and didn't have my uniform on - so embarrassed but I still took the money $$$$$$$$

I'm impressed! You know a lot more about this year's nominees than I do. I haven't paid much attention to the Oscars since I left Hollywood.

And you've actually been the recipient of some awards yourself! I'm impressed again. I've never won any awards. Well, none that I'd care to mention in public.....

I can't remember winning anything except maybe a really dumb centerpiece at a company picnic.

Lucky you!
Peace <3

Oh my God Ron, I have that same Blue suit from 1973! Except mine was in 1977, weren't we stylish in the 70's? Randy.

Jon,

I'm surprised that you haven't won any awards. That's something you could put on your "I Never List". I've actually won some other awards but I didn't have the photos. I won the Best Typist Award in my Senior Class. Also I was Soldier of the Month when I was stationed at Ft. Meade, Maryland when I was in the Army. I also have two bowling trophies, which are worthless. I've often wondered why I've held onto them all these years.

I always pay attention to the Oscars. I don't know if I'll watch the ceremonies though. I can't stand all the thanking of the agents, wives, and kids, so boring all those names plus they ALWAYS thank Harvey Weinstein. Just once, I would like to hear an Oscar winner accept an award without thanking Harvey Weinstein.

Jon,

I almost forgot, the first award I won was when I was ten years old I won a fishing rodeo (largest fish caught). It was featured in the local newspaper then again fifty years later! I'll have to do a blog on all my awards before I kick the bucket. Leave my "legacy."

Randy,

I think all of us in the business world possessed a blue seersucker (no pun intended) suit. I loved that suit, great for summertime wear. However, I remember one time I was hot over a guy at work and some precum showed through my pants. I was so embarrassed.

Jay,

I've won a few awards in my lifetime. Always fun to win. Lost more than I won though.

Wow Ron! That just made me laugh out loud.

I didn't realize I had a "wet" spot on my suit until I got a phone call and had to go to the files to check something. God, was I ever embarrassed. At that time I was 37 years old and was having an affair with a 17 year old intern. He used to call me on the phone and talk dirty. Fun times.

Yikes! I think I better quit while I'm ahead. Otherwise you'll really start revealing too much. LOL!

Was good seeing you receiving your special awards over the years! It is a great honour and I have appreciated my winning presentations for running over the years. Well done in your achievements!

Having seen ALL the nominated films (surprise!), although I'm with you in seeing Bradley Cooper as one super-hottie, I do think it'll be a gross injustice if DDL doesn't win. He never seems to have to TRY to be a character, but gets himself right into their skin, and all with apparent ease. I've never seen anything like him in my lifetime. He's a phenomenon!

Ray,

Daniel Day Lewis is a phenomenal actor. However, I think this will be one of those instances when many of the voting Academy members will assume the other Academy members will vote for him and he might just lose out. It's happened before. Bradley Cooper has it all - personality, looks, and acting ability. He has that magic that makes you want to look at him whenever he is on the screen. DDL is too intense for me although I will admit he is a great actor.

Anne Marie,

I can still fit into my Army uniform. Just moved it yesterday and was wondering about it. Yep, it still fits but is a big snugger these days.

Dr. Spo,

On behalf of my Mother, Miss Ezra (my third grade teacher) and Bill I thank you. Oh, and also a big "Thank you!" to Harvey Weinstein, I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Harvey. Right Harvey?

Sean,

There is more that I won't tell. Especially those afternoon "lunches." Still, I wasn't as naughty as my friend Bob Mc. who used to work at Wanamaker's, just across the street from the bank where I worked. He did "it" on his desk. Maybe if I had a private office like he did.

OK Then. I'm definitely the one who's lived a sheltered life.

Randy in NEB. said...

Ron, I did the same thing as Sean, only I rotflmao! I wish I had the chance to do half the things you have done. I wanted to tell you how I embarrassed myself at the gym. Working out on a butterfly machine, a guy I had the hots for stopped to talk. Well on the last rep. I had, what might be called a "male emission". CLEAN UP IN ISLE ONE! Hope that wasn't too racy or TMI?0_0 As always a pleasure. Randy in NEB.

Randy,

It happens, doesn't it? I think any, red blooded gay (or straight) male has had this "problem" when the stimulus is there. I've had other similar experiences when I was young and hot blooded. Not so much now. See what you missed Sean?

I don't know man. Any situation dealing with teenagers sounds like a very dangerous can of worms.

All the juices are flowing when your a teenager, not so much now.
