Pat Flynn in Montreal August 6, 2025

Right now, as I type this blog entry this morning at 8:24 AM, Pat is at the American consulate in Montreal being interviewed for his K-1 VISA approval. I have to admit I'm nervous, probably more so than Pat.

Yesterday Pat made the six plus hour drive from his home in Hamilton, Ontario to Montreal, Quebec (391 miles) for his interview this morning at 7:50 AM (yes, as I type this blog entry).

Hold on! I just got a FaceTime call from Pat. He has to go back! He didn't have an original copy of Bill's death certificate. He is so frustrated now. I feel so bad for him. Now he has to make another six hour trip to Montreal, rent another vehicle, secure lodging again.

Thank goodness I have extra originals of Bill's death certificates. I'll leave now and mail them to Pat. This time regular mail to Canada. Last time I sent the original certified copy of my birth certificate by certified mail. That cost me seventy-eight dollars. Regular mail this time. So far this whole procedure, which is almost a year old now, has cost us almost $2,000.

Again, I feel so bad for Pat. Now he has to make that six hour trip back to his home in Hamilton. A wasted trip this one.

Keep on, keeping on. What choice do we have? One hurdle after another. I'll draw the line when they want to check my iPhone.
