Update On Pat's Home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

Pat's home in downtown Hamilton, Ontario, Canada March 27, 2024 (the one on the left with a yellow door)

Remember a few years back when I wrote about Pat's problem neighbor?

Pat lives in downtown Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on Hess Street.

He moved there three years ago after selling his penthouse condo at the former Royal Connaught Hotel (at a big loss) when the housing market in Canada was collapsing.

He was lucky to find this gem of a small house that was built in 1910. He fell in love with it right away, being the minimalist that he is.

The location (downtown, right next to Hess Village) was perfect.

The size (under six hundred square feet) was also perfect. Pat is the opposite of me. I like a big house (mine is over 5200 square feet).

However, there was one big problem that Pat didn't discover until after he moved in.

Pat's house is on the left (yellow door).

The problem is the middle house. It's inhabited by squatters. Druggie squatters.

Well, not actually squatters. The woman who occupies it is the granddaughter of a man who died intestate. He owned several properties in Hamilton, all in disrepair. She doesn't own the house. She (Kim). , with her druggie boyfriend (Ray, also the father of her children, Pat thinks they are married),  moved in three years ago.

After they moved in Pat and his neighbors began to see a steady flow of "customers."

Yes, this is a real picture of some of Pat's neighbor's visitors. I wonder what the draw is?
Drug customers.

Sex (yes) customers.

"Houston, we have a problem here."

I could write a small book about all the going ons the past three years but I don't have the time here to do that. But what I can say that this has been a nightmare for Pat and his neighbors, especially the woman (Samantha) who lives in the other small house connected on the right. The druggie squatters live (if it can be called living) in the middle house.

Ray, Pat and Sam's neighbor and what the inside of their "home" looks like. Sam snuck this picture.

When they first moved in they didn't have running water or electricity. They were probably stealing Pat or Sam's facilities. Pat and Sam ended that.

More "merchandise" from Pat's neighbors - right on the front lawn

Then the druggies were keeping Pat and Sam up all night (at that time Sam was the full-time caregiver of her dying husband, who has since died) with hammering on the walls (they must of been doing redecorating), loud arguments (always from the woman who was screaming at her partner and father of her four children who aren't there thank God), and the worst of all the constant stream of unsavory characters coming and going at all hours. The only quiet times were in the morning. Pat and Sam suspect they're vampires.

Now for the past three years Pat and Sam have complained and complained to the city authorities. Made calls to the police. Contacted and paid lawyers to see what they can do about having their druggie neighbors evicted because they haven't paid taxes (of course) for the past three years.

About two months ago Ray disappeared. Pat and Sam think he's in jail. Arrested for either selling drugs (which they obviously were doing out of this house) and/or selling stolen goods (lots of furniture and clothing and other items pass through their doors).

This picture taken last month of Kim sitting on her front stoop with a friend. Pat tells friends who visit him that he lives on Skid Row. I actually feel sorry for her. What a waste of a life.

Since Ray disappeared from the scene it's been relatively quiet. Except for two occasions when someone else was over there and left the radio on all night blasting. Both Pat and Sam called the authorities but they couldn't do anything (break in). Eventually that stopped but someone else is there. Pat and Sam don't know who but this whole thing seems to be coming to a head. Yesterday Sam took picture of Kim trying to remove a padlock from the front door.

You know what folks? I'm getting depressed with writing this post about Pat's neighbors. What a terrible waste of life. This woman is the mother to four children. I understand she's just trying to live her life the best she can with her addiction. It's just a shame that her life is impacting on so many others. Not just Pat and his neighbor Samantha but the other neighbors on the street.

Now that someone (we think the city) has padlocked the residence, maybe something will finally have to be done. This situation is a complicated because the property did belong to her father (or grandfather). But she hasn't paid taxes for at least three years and she is a disturbance to the neighborhood.

When I see something like this I realize how fortunate I am to live where I live. Back in the eighties, when I had an apartment in center city Philadelphia that I leased for a year while our house out in the country was being completed (believe it or not we sold our house in Philly too fast, before our other house was completed and I needed a place to live and go to work), I tried to help two different drug addicted guys. It just didn't work out. One almost burned down my apartment when he fell asleep with a lit cigarette. When I mentioned this to a friend he told me the reason this guy was homeless was because where he was staying he did catch the place on fire by falling asleep with a lit cigarette and they threw him out. I had to do the same thing. I won't even get into what I had to deal with the other guy I was trying to help. Both of them were gay so that was the link. All I remember it was a nightmare trying to help these guys who had the addiction. I failed.

I'll leave with this image of Kim having an episode out in the street in front of Pat's house. So sad.

Now you know why I haven't been posting about Pat's problem neighbor.

I'm going out now to get some fresh air.

Pat's Gone

Pat leaving for his home in Hamilton, Ontario Canada early this morning

Pat left very early this morning.

Really early.

He was planning on leaving at 3:30 AM but when he got up for a bathroom visit at 2:30 AM he couldn't get back to sleep. I also happened to get up at the same time. Oh, by the way, we do sleep in separate bedrooms.

As in his past visits, our time together went by so fast. Too fast.

We did so much during his visit. One big accomplishment is that Pat replaced all my smoke detectors which were ten years over their expiration date. What a relief that is going to be not to hear those "chirping" sounds at random times during the day and night.

We did so much else during his visit. Two days in Philadelphia visiting our friend Don McK.

Also, Pat took me to several of my doctors' appointments which was a big help for me. However, we did miss the Big One which was my PET-SCAN. That one has been rescheduled for next week (June 24th).

During Pat's visit, we ate out almost every night. We didn't plan to do that but I'm finding we default to our past get togethers when we traveled to California, Canada and Philadelphia. I never eat out otherwise so this is a treat for me. Most of our dine outs were at local Mexican restaurants and a couple new ones. I'll write about all these in future posts.

Right now I'm feeling lonely again. I'll be so glad when Pat can move down here permanently and we can spend all of our time together. Of course we'll have to change our eating habits though. Can't afford to eat out every night!

More later.

Have a great day!

He's Here!

Pat and I having breakfast at the nearby town of Dewey Beach, DE. I had to check out their famous Orange Crush drinks. DE-LICIOUS!

Pat's here!

He arrived last Sunday.

We've been very busy since then which I will write about more in detail after he leaves next week.

Yes, he's here for two weeks.

Tomorrow we drive up to Philly (2 1/2 hour drive) to visit our friend Don McK. We'll be there two days then back here.

As always his visits are so short. Hopefully, one day while I'm still alive and able to move around, he will move down here to Casa Tipton-Kelly permanently. Hopefully this time next year he will be here full time.

Have a great day everyone!

Pat's Visit

Pat's previous Fiat at his home in Canada. He has a different Fiat now, a green one.

As I type this entry Pat is in upstate Pennsylvania, just over the border from Binghamton New York approaching Scranton Pennsylvania.

Pat's current Fiat when he last visited here in March.

He left his home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada at about 3:30 AM this morning.

This time he's taking the main (toll) roads. Remember the last time he took the non toll roads which caused him to get stuck in a snowstorm. He also damaged his undercarriage by riding over something, which he never did figure out what it was. Probably some piece of errant metal under the snow. That repair job cost him $600.

This morning he has already run into two problems. The firsts one he was pulled over by a police car. Pat had earlier passed that police car who had pulled another driver over to the side of the road for speeding. Apparently when Pat passed both of them, he didn't pull far enough over into the passing lane. The policeman didn't give him a ticket but did give him a warning. Then later on down the road Pat ran over road kill that got stuck up in his undercarriage. He said "water was leaking." So far he's been able to continue his journey, no "Check Engine Light" has come on but part of the road kill is still stuck in his undercarriage. Pat has one of those little Fiat cars. This week Pat will take his car to my mechanic to check out his car to see if there is any damage. Hopefully he doesn't have another $600 bill. It's expensive visiting me.

Pat estimated arrival time is sometime after 2:00 PM this afternoon. Now the time is 10:45 PM.

I am so looking forward to being with Pat again and having someone in the house besides just me and the strange noises that I hear go "bump" into the night. Pat does have his own bedroom but sometimes we watch a movie in the Tipton Cinema which is in my bedroom. I usually fall asleep. And now we have the Flynn Cinema which is in my finished basement living room. That the home movie theater we had put in during his last visit. Surround sound, big woofers, and 77 inch TV screen. We saw "Frankenstein" on it. We've only seen one other movie. I don't even watch movies in my bedroom anymore because I fall asleep. I'm wondering if I wasted my money having that home theater set up in the basement. Doesn't matter in the end, what's $3,500. I lost more than that in my E*Trade account ($4,300) yesterday. At least the home movie theater is there for us to watch. Ironically we will see a movie at the movie theater while he's down here. Pat likes to go to movie theaters to watch movies while I prefer to watch them at home. We'll see "Michael" while he's here, probably tonight or tomorrow night. Pat likes the whole "popcorn" experience of the movie theater. I wouldn't go by myself but I will with Pat. I'm happy if Pat is happy.

Philadelphia 1976

Me and Bill at our home on Naudain Street, Philadelphia, PA 1976.

A few days ago I posted this picture of me and Bill on Threads on the top of our roof deck when we lived in center city Philadelphia. The year was 1976, the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.  Much to my surprise my posting has received over thirty-three thousand "likes" on Threads which is the social media arm of Instagram via Facebook.

Almost all of the comments are favorable, some comparing this iconic photo to an album cover. In fact one commenter insisted that he has seen that album cover. Sorry, this wasn't an album cover. Now here is an album cover.

Pat and his band which they are still playing today! In fact they're rehearsing this weekend.

It is of Pat (the dirty faced guy on the forefront) and his band at that time. Of course I didn't know Pat at that time (if I did I would have been all over him because he is definitely my type).

I was quite surprised by the response I got from my posting of my picture to Threads. Gives me a good feeling that I'm leaving a legacy behind when I check out this year or next year.

Almost all of the comments I received were favorable. Of course there are always those few comments which are meant to hurt but I've developed a pretty thick skin over the years and let those hateful comments roll off of me.

Many commented on what a great picture this is of two gay pioneers of the gay movement. Well, I don't know about that. We certainly have many stories to tell of that time. One thing though, this picture wasn't posed. I was testing out my timer on my SLR camera which I had put on a tripod. The timer was set to go off in ten seconds. Bill was skeptical that it would work. I was confident it would (look at the way I'm standing, my "Ron Tipton stance" as Pat calls it).  Turns out sometimes the most iconic pictures are the ones that aren't posed but in the moment.

This was the second shot. The timer worked!

Time Flies

Pat and Ron at the Santa Monica Pier, California January 17, 2016

It's amazing how time flies.

Here is a selfie I took of me and Pat at the Santa Monica Pier during our visit to California in January of 2016.

That was ten years ago.

I'm pretty sure there won't be a picture of us ten years from now. If there is, we will be 87 and 94 years old respectively. That's probably a picture you don't want to see.

Riding Solo Again

Me and Pat in Lewes March 19, 2026. Still able to get around!

Now that Pat has returned to his home in Canada, I'm slowly adjusting to living alone again here at Casa Tipton-Kelly.

Yesterday I had my grass mowed for the first time this season by my longtime local landscaper, Jose S.

With all this ICE action, I was afraid I wouldn't see Jose this year. He says he's been in the U.S. for over thirty years but I have a suspicion that he's undocumented. Usually he returns to Mexico during the winter season. He didn't this year. I understand why.

April 1st, I was hit by two big bills. One for my six month auto insurance and the other for my home insurance. My biggest expenses at this time of my life is insurance. Health insurance, and the above  mentioned auto and home insurance all of which go up every year while my fixed income stays the same.

Tomorrow I drive down to my local VA Outpatient facility to give blood for my labs. Next week I see my longtime VA doctor. I've already informed him (via VA e-mail) that my prostate cancer has probably returned and I'm not seeking treatment.

Since Pat left I've had several days of very mild weather where I can work outside. However, I can do only so much before I run out of steam and I have to retreat to the house to regain my strength. I love working outside. I miss those days when I could work outside all day until dark. Those days are long gone. Old age has finally caught up with me.

As I bring this brief blog posting to a close, I'm headed out to my local favorite thrift store, Restore. I always have energy to check out their latest treasures. One day, most of the items in my house will be there.

Have a great day everyone!

Pat Has Left

Pat leaving early this morning (3:30 AM) for his 12 hour ride back to his home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. As I type this, he's about two hours away.

Early this morning (3:30 AM) Pat got in his little green Fiat and left to return to his home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

The past two weeks has been a whirlwind of activity here at Casa Tipton-Kelly during his much anticipated visit. In addition to being my husband and longtime friend (since 2013), Pat is a wonderful guest, with benefits!

Pat checking out the tools in my garage

In addition to being a tremendously sexy guy who continues to turn me on after all these years of knowing him, Pat is a handyman! Maybe not as knowledgeable as Bill but way better than me. He also inspires me to do more around the house here.

Pat changing my toilet seat. If I got down on the floor like this I would still be there!

Also, another benefit of Pat visiting is that I get to go out. I never go out by myself. Instead I stay hold up here at Casa Tipton-Kelly, which isn't bad (I have a wonderful home) but I do need to go out and check what's going on at this East Coast major sea side resort.

While Pat was down here we ate out often and did discover a few new wonderful places to add to our itinerary of dine out options. I will post about those places in future blog posts.

But for now I'm dealing with the tremendous sadness of an empty house without Pat's loving presence in it.

The good news is that we did complete the online applicate to the USCIS (United States Immigration Service) to apply for Pat's green card. Once he gets his green card he can sell his house in Hamilton and move down here to Casa Tipton-Kelly full time. By the way, that burned out Christmas light was on most of the time Pat was here, unlike previous visits when it was out. That means Bill approves.

Everything is looking good folks. The process is moving forward. Now to adjust myself to living alone again.

Pat's Here!

Just a quick note to let you know Pat is here. He's been here for a few days. He had problems getting down here, got caught in a snowstorm in up state New York. He left at 3:30 AM in the morning for the nine hour trip. There he was outside of Buffalo, in the dark, with blinding snow and couldn't even see the road. With my GPS help though, we got him to a major thoroughfare where there were lights. He was trying to take toll free roads. That didn't work out too well in the dark and driving snow. He did sustain some damage to his muffler and had to have it repaired down here as a cost of four hundred dollars.

He's here now and we just returned from a trip to Pennsylvania to visit my cousin. No more trip for either one of us though until he returns home on the 30th.

There is much to do around the house here. The first being completing that USCIS form for his green card. Then putting up new blinds in my bathroom, and other small jobs. The picture at the beginning to this blog shows Pat assembling my extender limb trimmer. I no good at assembling things. I can cook and write but I never this those kits like little boys did of my age in the Forties and Fifties.

More news as it happens!

Pat's On His Way!

Pat a few minutes ago at a Burger King restaurant in Bath New York this morning.

Pat left his home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada at approximately 3:30 AM for his nine hour plus trip down here to southern coastal Delaware.

He thought he would get an early start. However, he encountered a problem that he had not anticipated.

SNOW!

He called me from upstate New York State just below Buffalo. He was caught in a blinding snow in the dark.

Pat had decided to take toll free roads for his trip to Delaware but he didn't anticipate that he would encounter snow. The problem with taking toll free roads is that you're "in the country." Add the darkness and blinding snow, he didn't know where he was. Thank goodness we both have our GPS activated on our phones. I was able to tell him where he was and direct him to an Interstate road so he could follow other traffic and then a facility like a gas station or restaurant to pull over and rest. The picture on this blog I took a few minutes ago as I was talking to him on FaceTime. He had some home fries at Burger King in Bath New York and now is going to grab a nap in his Fiat, which doesn't have snow tires by the way.

Pat should be here late this afternoon.

Every day is an adventure.

Pat's Visit

Pat leaves his home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada for the nine hour plus trip to visit me here at Casa Tipton-Kelly tomorrow.

This time he's not renting a car which costs upwards of $900. We're both on tight budgets these days what with the cost of living ever rising and our fixed incomes not rising. He's driving down in his tan Fiat.

Pat's last visit he rented a hybrid car. It got great gas mileage but I had a very difficult time getting in and out of his car. Interestingly I don't have a hard time getting in and out of his Fiat, which is a very small car. The hybrid car Pat rented was just too low to the ground. Absolutely killed my legs and back.

Having someone around the house will be nice even though it takes some getting used to. After living by myself for a couple of years I've sort of gotten used to living alone. Taking my multiple naps. Coming and going as I please. Pat is good company and the perfect guest. This is going to be nice.

By the way, the picture above isn't the car Pat is driving down. He's coming down in his Fiat.

Snow Is Gone!

The snow is finally gone!

What a winter we've been having here in southern coastal Delaware. I hope this is my last winter like this. I've had quite enough of the white stuff.

This morning I finally went out of the house to see other forms of life. It gets lonely here, living by myself. Of course I'm in touch with Pat every day by FaceTime and my other friends Glenn and Don less often by FaceTime and Zoom. I also call on the phone (landline) my old friend and former boss Bill and one of my few surviving cousins Barbara.

Pat is planning on coming down for an in person visit on March 17th, which coincidentally is St. Patrick's Day. The same time he came down last year. He will be down for a couple weeks. I hope we can drive up to Pennsylvania for a few days to visit friends. I'll see if I'm physically up to it. I was just to exhausted last. year to make any trips. Also, my right leg was wonky. Painful climbing in and out of that low rental car Pat brought down. He's bringing his own car down this time, a Fiat. While it is also a small call, I'm more comfortable in it and don't feel like I'm practically sitting on the ground when I get in and out of his car.

I'm filling out a new USCIS (United States Immigration Service) for I-130 to get Pat's green card. I'm filling it out online this time. Of course it is confusing and for a while I considered hiring an immigration lawyer to do the work but after checking reviews and prices (poor reviews, $3,000 and up fees), I decided I will fill out the form myself with help from You Tube instructions. I filled out the forms for the K-1 VISA myself and saved a ton of money. Not easy immigrating to the United States from another country. I called the USCIS help line and after one disconnect, finally got through the maze of automated answers to get a real person. Wasn't much help, short and abrupt which didn't surprise me with the current regime that is in charge of Homeland Security. I hate that term "Homeland". Sounds so Nazi German. I think that's a Dick Cheney term.

I'll fill out a little bit of this form every day and have it complete by the time Pat gets here. We'll go over it together before I send it in.

Once I send it in I expect to wait at least a year before anything is done then it's probably more forms. I have a serious doubt I'll even be alive when this whole process is complete but I'm going through the motions anyway that we get a break. Both from me surviving longer the return of my prostate cancer and that since the USCIS already has a lot of information on me and Pat from his K1-VISA that somehow that will speed up the process. One thing the guy at USCIS told me that when Pat and I are married three years he's a United States citizen. Of course the catch is that he has to be living here all that time. We shall see.

It's all so exhausting folks. I'm trying not to worry about it. As the old Doris Day song said "Whatever Will Be, Will Be." Right now I'm just glad this damn snow is gone.

Great News!

My cool Canadian husband

I have some great news that I'm going to share with my faithful blog followers today.

Pat has decided to move down here with me in Delaware!

He decided all on his own without any pressure from me. I was totally prepared to have a distance relationship. I know how much he loves his home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I also know he loves Palm Springs.

Over the past year we have discussed what path to take to get him to Palm Springs. As you know I made a mistake and went through the K-1 VISA application process, not knowing that once he got to the Canadian-American border that he would be told he couldn't go back. Not forever, but at least sixty days.

We were hesitant to apply for the other VISA that would allow him to travel freely between the U S and Canada. That VISA application would be even more expensive to both of us and accomplish what? Nothing, that's what. So Pat is going to use his K-1 VISA application forms when he visits me this coming March.

He's going to sell his house in Hamilton, even though the market is poor now. He was going to wait but the housing market in Canada could take years to recover. In the meantime I could be dead.

I am so relieved. Not only do I need help now, I am very lonely in my home now. Oh I know I was looking forward to the freedom of living alone, but I'm finding I'm just lonely. Of course Pat and I living together will take some adjustment but we both agree we can handle that minor inconvenience.

I am so happy right now!

Trips to Philadelphia Over the Years

This video popped up this morning on my iPhone. Apple makes these delightful compilation videos. I thought I would share it with all of you. I may not be visiting Palm Springs with Pat in the near future but we will definitely be going back to Philly to visit our friend Don.

Have a great day everyone!

Eleven Years Ago Yesterday

Pat and Ron, The Hollywood Hills, West Hollywood, California January 14, 2014

Happened to come across this picture of me and Pat taken eleven years ago to the day yesterday when we first visited California.

It's been quite a ride since with this wonderful man who is now my husband.

With all the chaos, hate and turmoil in the world, this gentle man keeps me grounded.

Met My New Husband

Me and Pat in my driveway November 9, 2025

Pictured with me is my new Canadian husband Pat (76). We were married on November 4th this month. Tis picture was taken as we returned from my 84th birthday dinner on November 9th. Second marriage for me, first marriage for him. He's conservative (likes Trump) and I'm a raging liberal Democrat. I love this guy to death and he me. We don't talk politics, our love for eh other is stronger than political affiliations. He does think we fly a lot of American flags here in the USA. This is my flag.

Pat, The Wine Taster

Pat, my new husband (as of November 4th), took me out to dinner at my favorite local Italian restaurant in Rehoboth Beach on my 84th birthday (November 9th). In addition to my Eggplant Parmesan main course, he ordered a bottle of wine for us to share. Much to my amusement he was asked by our waiter to taste the wine before we accepted it. As you can see he's not used to this routine. As a matter of fact, in the past we have often mocked this swirling of the wine in the glass before accepting it. Now I know why, our waiter explained to us that we have to make sure it's not vinegar. It wasn't. It was delicious and we polished off the whole bottle. Now the eggplant parm, that was another whole story. It wasn't up to what I expected but rarely is eggplant parm done well. There is only one restaurant in Rehoboth that does it well, but the restaurant otherwise isn't accepted because of their anti-gay policy some years ago. They have since abandoned that policy (they advertised as "family friendly" which is code for "gays need not come to our restaurant"). That stink remains though. I've been there a couple times since but never feel comfortable there. At my birthday restaurant they went over and above to make Pat and I feel comfortable and just as "family friendly" as any coupe, straight or gay.  Needless to say, I had a perfect birthday dinner with my perfect guy. I am the luckiest guy on this planet and I know it!

Married Man!

My husband painting our wall. He does a great job. I hate to paint. I'm glad Pat doesn't mind. He's good. He plays his Canadian radio station while he paints. He's a regular dynamo. God I love this little guy!

There's my new husband painting our house already!

Pat just left yesterday morning for his home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. A nine hour drive.

We had a wonderful thirteen days here at Casa Tipton-Kelly (no name change). Those days went by so fast!

We were going to travel to Pennsylvania to visit friends but my leg (right) was giving me so much trouble and we just didn't have the time, Pat started to paint our house and I decided to save money by not traveling. Instead I brought a top of the line home movie theater which I had installed. More about that in a future post.

I'm just catching up now.

I a very happy! I have won the lottery with Pat as much as husband. We're a match! Oh sure, there are some adjustments to be made, I've been living by myself for a year and a half now and Pat's lived by himself his whole adult life. But it's all good. He thoroughly enjoy each other's company and I love having a living, breathing human being in my house again. It's all good folks!

Later.

Marriage License Application

Pat and I just returned from the Sussex County Courthouse in Georgetown. We obtained our marriage license. Now Pat and I have to wait twenty-four hours. This is a Delaware state law requirement, wait twenty-four hours before getting married as a cooling off period. They don't want anyone making a rash decision like Brittaney Spears did who got drunk on night and got married to her current boyfriend at that time (I'm not even sure he was her official "boyfriend") Jason Alexander (not the actor on "Seinfeld.") When she sobered up a few days later she had their Las Vegas marriage annulled.

Well folks, I'm sure I'm going to marry my honey, Pat Flynn from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada tomorrow. I've been besotted with him since I first laid eyes on him when we med in the summer of 2013. Yes, we met through my blog.

Interestingly, he wasn't a regular follower of my blog and still isn't. He's not interested but he was interested in me when he saw my photo on the TV sitting in the gallery at the Delaware state legislature waiting to testify for same sex marriage. He did an Internet search and found my blog and left a comment just as I was writing a new blog entry. Another interesting factor is that no one before of since has left a live comment on my blog while I was in the process of writing a new posting. I responded to his comment and a few days later we progressed to FaceTiming and eventually he asked me if he could come down for a visit. He did and within five minutes of meeting him face to face I knew he was The One. But another interesting fact was I met him a month after I married Bill and I wasn't going to leave Bill. Yes, I was in love with two men at the same time. That is possible you know. In fact I think someone even wrote a song about loving the same two people at the same time.

So we met in a parking lot of a Lewes Hotel and as I previously said in the post, within a few minutes I knew this man was who I was looking for in all the wrong places (another song?) ever since I was aware I liked men. Took a long time to find him but I always knew I would? And what about Bill you ask? Well, if you are a long time follower of my blogs you would know that when I initially moved in with Bill in January of 1965 it was strictly on a roommate basis. That was our understanding, we were not to be lovers. He had no restrictions on each other. Bill traveled a lot with his job (he was an electronics technician with RCA and then General Electric) and was gone for months at a time. I needed an apartment to live in for my new job at Girard Bank in Philadelphia. He said I could live in his apartment in Pennsauken New Jersey which was right across the river from Philadelphia. But a funny thing happened over the years, I grew to love Bill. He knew what he was doing when he convinced me to move in with him all those years ago. In fact I grew to love Bill so much that there isn't a day that I don't grieve for him. I look forward to the day when our spirits are reunited for eternity. And that is my background of my fifty-nine year relationship with Bill.

Now I start a new relationship with Pat tomorrow. We're scheduled to be married tomorrow at the Sussex County Courthouse in Georgetown Delaware.

When we were answering questions this morning to get our marriage license I was surprised that I was getting emotional. The last time I got married, Bill was the one who got emotional. I'll probably be a mess tomorrow. I have arranged with the same people to videotape my marriage that videotaped my marriage to Bill twelve years ago. I'll try not to do an ugly crying spectacle.

Folks, I cannot tell you how happy I am to be marring such a wonderful man like Pat. He and Bill are nothing alike so I'm not marrying on the rebound. In fact Pat is a lot like me. We understand each other. Bill and I were as different in personalities as could be. But that didn't stop us from loving each other.

Life is interesting isn't it folks? And I'm going to find out more as I embark on my final journey tomorrow with my Canadian honey. Right now I feel like the luckiest man on the planet. And you know what folks? I am!

Hey folks! Look what I created! My honey and fiancé Pat F. as a super hero flying above the city!

This is the first time I created an AI image with a real person. I love it! And by the way, doesn't Pat look hot? That's my Pat! Truly my super hero!
