Team Kristenballs - Out!

Team Kristen Balls

Kristen Calvallari and Mark Ballas, also known by the oh to cute name of "Kristen Balls" was voted off "Dancing With the Stars" show a few minutes ago.  Thank you.  Now I no longer have to watch the smug, show boating Mark Ballas dancing in his white spats, making faces and doing flips while supposedly "dancing" with his celebrity partner Kirsten Calvallari.

Oh I know some of (or maybe all) of my blogger buddies disagree with me about Mark Ballas.  Cubby thinks he's hot.  Another one of regular blogger reader whose opinion I value recently told me that Mark is a nice guy.  Sorry folks, the guy just rubs me the wrong way.  From the first time I saw him, I didn't like his showboating ways.  I wasn't going to say anything more about him but since he was surprisingly voted off the show tonight, I felt the need to say "I told you so."

Was Team Kristen Balls the worst dancers?  No, they were absolutely not the worst dancers.  In fact, they were pretty good, much to my chagrin.  The worst dancers or dancer is Chaz Bono clumping around the dance floor.  He is painful to watch.  But when I see a really professional dancer like Derek Hough (who I heard the other day that Howard Stern can't stand for many of the same reasons I couldn't stand Mark Ballas), the contrast is to great to ignore.  Derek compliments his celebrity partner Rickie Lake, he doesn't take the spotlight off of her with selfish, showboating acts like doing a flip at the end of a dance routine.  I don't know Derek. He might just be the biggest jerk in the world.  But what I do know is that I enjoy watching him dance with his partner as a TEAM, not as a professional dancer scene stealing from his celebrity partner.

All right, enough beating up on the "wonderful" Mark Ballas.  I've said all I'm going to say about him except that I am glad I won't have to watch him anymore (I did fast forward through his routine tonight when I played back my DVD recording of the show last night).  The two so called professional dancers that I didn't like were Mark Ballas and that Dutch guy from last year who didn't come back this year.  Now that the two most annoying professional dancers are off the show I can enjoy the show without having to fast forward through any of it.

By the way, this week's show was very good.  All the dancers with the possible exception of Chaz, were very, very good.  I am very impressed with how hard they work to perfect their routines.  It's more than I could ever do.  And that my friends, is why I'm watching and why they are dancing.

I wish them all happiness, even Mark Ballas.  Maybe he learned a lesson tonight and, if he comes back next season, acts like a professional dancer who is there to compliment his celebrity partner instead of trying for his own reality show.  Good luck Mark!

The Mark Ballas pout - just one of his many annoying facial expressions - so "professional"

Sugar Ray Is Gone!

Anna and Sugar Ray's Swan Song

Well, it looks like the American public agrees with me, my three least favorite dance couples were on the Bottom Three last night on "Dancing With the Stars."

Any one of them could be voted off and I wouldn't miss them.  However, I do feel sorry for Chelsea  Kane because her hog pig selfish "I'm the star!" dancing partner Mark Ballas isn't fair to her by his show-off choreography which features him more than it does his 'star' dancing partner.  Okay Mark, we got it.  You're all THAT.  Now get over yourself.  Did you see how surprised the self centered oaf was when HE was in the bottom three?  It appears that me and Len aren't the only ones who agree that Mark isn't doing his partner Chelsea any favors by he weekly auditions for a Broadway show.

"Hey! Look at me!  Ain't I grand?" - Mark Ballas - Selfish Jerk

Mark and Kendra got a pass last night and they will probably make it through next week's elimination phase also.  Knowing Mark, he'll go even farther over the top with his "Look at me!" choreography attempting to 'hit it out of the park' in his desperation to stay in the spotlight.  Mark should take his cue from the more adult professional dance partners like Maks and Dimtry and not try to upstage their dancing partners.

Having said that, I wasn't sad to see Sugar Ray Leonard eliminated last night.  Was it me or did anyone else feel creepy when they saw Sugar Ray 'gliding' around the dance floor?  I never did buy the 'Sugar Ray Story' that he was a Fighter Against All Odds.  He reminds me too much of Ben Vereen, another semi-talent who thinks he's a lot better than he really is and thinks he has an adorable cute smile that will just melt everyone into his fan.  Not happening.  Ben Vereen was a bore and you are too Sugar Ray.  Buh bye!

Ah, let's see.  Oh yes, the Other Couple was Kendra and Louis.  There is something going on between those two that I can't quite put my finger on.  I don't think they like one another.  Maybe Kendra wanted a more manly partner than she got with the weird Little Louie.  I don't know.  Louie gives me the creeps too. I actually like Kendra but I think she's in over her head.  She and Louie will probably go next week.  Unfortunately, I think Mark will be around for awhile.  He has just that kind of phony, "Look at me!  Look at me" show business type of personality that the Great Unwashed seem to go for.  Not me, I see right through it.

The beautiful  Kendra with Louis (who teases his hair so he's taller than Kendra)

This is a DANCE SHOW WITH CELEBRITIES.  Not the Mark Ballas show.

Dancing With the Stars Show Week #4

Maks and Kirstie - I like them!

Kirsty may be old and fat but she has style and Maks is the Max
Okay, here is my better late than ever take on last night's "Dancing With the Stars" competition.  I don't hold back on telling exactly how I feel so if you're a squeamish and are uncomfortable with my unfiltered remarks you might want to consider skipping this blog posting.

I didn't get a chance to watch the whole show because I was too tried from having to go into work on short notice for a co-worker who had a family crises.  I DVR the show so I did get a chance to see some of it.  Unfortunately, I saw those two trolls, Mark Ballas and Louis Van Amstel dance.  Those two "it's all about me" guys annoy me to no end.  They are NOT THE STARS.  Apparently no one clued them in on that fact.  Mark Ballas especially gets under my skin because he hogs all the limelight from his 'star' partner, Chelsea Kane.  She's nice enough to let him get away with it. Mark is one of those short,  ugly, troll-like guys who think they're all THAT.  He's short and ugly..and short.  But the gals (and some gay guys no doubt) go for that kind of troll.  Same with Louis Van Amstel.  I know he can't help the way he was born but what's with that forehead anyway?  His forehead reminds me of Frankenstein's monster.  Louis is also short.  I always thought a great dancing partner was a tall, elegant man, not one of these short scene stealers.

I'm told that the short guys are the best dancers. Really?  I don't see it. Since when?  I think Maks (Kirstie's partner) and Dmitry are pretty damn good too.  Plus they don't hog the spotlight from their 'star' partner.  They're not selfish and self aggrandizing like Mark Ballas and Louis Van Amstel.

Louis will be gone tonight.  He outta there.  Unfortunately, the judges fell for Mark's choreography and gave him high marks last night.  That's another thing that annoys me.  Where's the dancing?  We all know that professional dancers know choreography but how about some dancing?  If we wanted to see choreography we would rent one of the old Busby Berkley musicals.

So here is my take on the dancers last night:

Who is the star here?  Ask Mark, he'll tell you.  Smug ass.

This is Ballas' getup from last week.  WTF? What a frigging doofus.

This is dancing?

I'll say it again, "This is dancing?" It looks like "drag around The Star )"

Now the I beat up on this selfish, no-talent, scene stealing troll Mark Ballas, here are the rest of last night's contestants:

Chris and Cheryl - I like Chris - he is obviously having the time of his life

OMIGOD!  Did you see Chris 'strut' the dance floor on his knees like a Russian Cossack last night? I couldn't find an image of that on the Internet today but that image is imprinted on my brain - at least for a few days.  SEXY!

Short Louis with the Big Head 'dancing' with Chelsea.  Really? This is dancing?

The always elegant Petra and manly Dimtry (Louis and Mark could take a cue from Dimtry how a real man should dance with a star)

Oh no, here we go again.  "This is dancing?"

Ralph and Karina - always enjoyable to watch - they'll probably win

Who knew Ralph Macchio was this good?  I didn't.

Romeo and Chelsie - I was all prepared to dislike this rapper but I have to admit he's won me over with his class

Sugar Ray and Anna - I have always disliked Sugar Ray from the time he stole Sugar Ray Robinson's name and tried to live off of his reflected fame.  To me 'this' Sugar Ray' is a phony and a bore.  He has done nothing to dissuade of that fact since appearing on "Dancing With the Stars".  He' still a no talent bore with weird eyes.  The baby-face thing gets weird when you're over fifty years of age.

Hines and Kym - always good - they'll be in the finals

Random Thought On A Rainy September Sunday
