"Alternative Facts"

This morning on "Meet the Press", Kellyanne Conway, our new president Donald Trump's spokesperson, uttered a statement that should send chills down everyone's spine.

When asked by Chuck Todd, the "Meet the Press" moderator, about the lie (about Trump's inauguration being the "biggest ever, period!) Sean Spicer, Trump's press spokesperson said yesterday during his first press briefing, Ms. Conway said they were presenting "alternative facts."  Watch this full recording and think, "is this what we're going to go through the next four years?" Kellyanne Conway should resign immediately.

ALTERNATIVE FACTS?

Did I hear right?  Are we living in Russia?

Are we living in some banana republic?

ALTERNATIVE FACTS?

Folks, and especially my friends who are Trump supporters, do you not see how bad this is?

Are we going to have a presidency who presents ALTERNATIVE FACTS to us?

Here's what is going to happen if we permit this new parameter to happen.  People will die.

No one will believe anything that comes out of the White House.

I wrote a blog a couple of days ago expressing my fear of the Trump presidency and what this man is going to do to this country.

I've heard from some through this blog and my Facebook page that "we should all come together."  Here is the real fact folks, I cannot and will never support a liar.

I will continue to exercise my First Amendment right (free speech).  I am an American and I don't take for granted my rights.  Trump and many of his supporters like to crow about their Second Amendment rights.  Well folks, we also have the First Amendment which I fully intend to use.

This is just the beginning folks. Trump isn't going to change.

Yep, and the check is in the mail. So one lie justifies another? This is your defense? You'll have to do better than that friend.

Jono,
Trump opens his mouth and nothing but lies and in insult and bullying comes out. What have we descended to with this troglodyte?

It's going to be a tough haul moving forward. The 'can't we all just get along' crowd would have done well to take their own advice during the past 8 years.

I attended our local Women's March yesterday. It reminded me that I am not alone in feeling scared, fired up, and ready to defend my rights & the rights of others.

My small business-owning brother at the age of 49 finally obtained health care (with a pre-existing condition) under the ACA. Dismantling it will mean dire consequences for many Americans, my bro included.

Yes, this exchange is high profile on our news channels too, Ron. Alternative facts? More like Alternative Reality or Alternative Universe.

Btw: I've posted the ref for my review of 'F.F.Jenkins' under your comment on 'My Favourite Films'.

Bea,
Thank you for attending your local Women's March. I feel so bad for those whose health care will be affected by the actions of this new Republican controlled government. People will die.

Ray,
When I heard Kellyanne Conway state seriously "alternative facts", I remembered back when I read "1984". Scary.
Hey, thanks for the information on your review on "F.F. Jenkins." I'll check it out. I really enjoyed that movie.

It exactly IS like 1984, Ron, where words mean the opposite of what was thought before - and everyone is forced to accept it. You can't make it up because it was already done by Orwell, the only difference being that it's now being acted out.

In these four years it is imperative we do not lose sight or voice of Truth.
