Toronto, Here I Come!

Me and Pat at Modern Mixture in Milton during Pat's visit last month

It's that time of year again folks!  This time next week I will be a guest of my little "brother" Pat at his fabulous home in Toronto. Why it seems like just a year ago I was visiting Pat in fabulous Toronto (yes, I used "fabulous" twice in one sentence).

Pat and I met two years ago (August 16th to be precise) in the parking lot of Hotel Blue in Lewes, Delaware.  I have to say it was "like" at first sight.  I finally met my "other Ron."  Pat and I are so much alike we're often mistaken for brothers by strangers.  On five different occasions in five different cities we have been approached by strangers and asked "are you brothers?"  There is something definitely there folks.  I don't know what but what I do know is that Pat and I are simpatico.  Now for those of you who get confuse easily; who have been brainwashed taught "one man only", well folks, we're breaking that rule. I can have my cake and eat it too.  Just saying (big smile).

But I digress.  Next Wednesday I catch the Big Bird American Airlines plane out of Philly for a flight to Buffalo.  Pat will pick me up in Buffalo (not the first time a handsome man has picked me up, but I digress . . . . again) and complete the last leg of my annual trek to Toronto.

In my absence my friend and co-worker Don W. will fill in for me at work.  Thank you Don!  We men have to stick together.  I'm always asked to fill in for my lady co-workers but when I'm out a man fills in for me.  Like today, I'm going in for yet another female co-worker but again I digress.  Lot's of digressing here folks and I would love to write about my work situation but I dare not in this public forum that often has unforeseen negative consequences for me.

Pat and Don
Suffice it to say, I appreciate Don filling in for me.  Above photo was taken last month during Pat's annual visit to Delaware.

This year we will not be meeting our friends Dr. Spo and Someone.  They took their annual holiday to Canada early this year.  We will miss them at the Canadian National Exhibition fun and games. Maybe next year, maybe not.

Someone, Pat, Dr. Spo and me at last year's Canadian National Exhibition
So folks, the next few days I will prepare for the Big Trip. And I just hope I don't forget to take my passport with me.

Just Kidding - Hillary Clinton Will Win

Hey folks, I really love the way that Donald Trump is giving the big Middle Finger to the incestuous political/media establishment.  LOVE IT!  But as some of you who know me better know, I could never vote for Donald Trump. Sure, he's a lot of fun and I hope he is the Republican presidential nominee because that will ensure that Hillary Clinton will be elected our next president.

Not that I'm in love with Hillary or Bill Clinton back in the White House (I'm not) but there is NO WAY we can have a Republican in the White House.

NO WAY.

Why?

Supreme Court nominees.

So now I will go back to enjoying the Donald Trump Show.

Trump is Going To Win

Donald Trump is going to win the Republican nomination for president and he will win the presidency.

Say it again Ron, Donald Trump is going to win.

Get used to it all you folks to dismiss Donald Trump as a clown, sideshow, buffoon, etc., etc.

Mark this date on your calendar folks. You intrepid blogger has made this prediction.

P.S.

I knew Ronald Reagan was going to win too way back in the day when many were dismissing Reagan as "just an actor" and an "airhead."

For those of you who are still in disbelief and aghast at Donald Trump being a serious candidate, get used to it folks.  He's not going away.

So for the rest of the Republican Clown Car, those who are brought and paid for by the big money donors and pumped up by the Washington Beltway Know-It-All Media Elite,
you have been trumped.

Please Take Your Shoes Off

Bill and I always take our shoes off before we enter our house.  We ask guests who enter our house to take their shoes off.  The reason we do this is because the bottom of people's shoes are dirty and we don't want that filth in the house.

Bill introduced me to this practice when I first moved in with him fifty-one years ago.  Bill picked up this habit from is time spent in Japan during is Air Force service years during the early Fifties.  By the way, Bill saw General Douglas McArthur and Emperor Hirohito during his stay but I digress.

Over the years most of our guests (we actually don't have that many) have complied.  The only problem has been with workmen entering our house. Either they are too lazy or too disrespectful to honor our request.  Some workmen have complied by wearing booties. Most have not.

Mark this day because it is the last day a workman enters our house wearing shoes without booties.  The reason I say this is because I got weak and let a workman wear booties.

Two days ago we had a new air conditioning and heater unit installed in our house, which is mostly wall to wall carpeted.  When I encountered one workman entering our house to install the new thermostat I asked "Where are your booties?"  He looked at me with a perturbed surprise as said "Booties? Booties?  My shoes are clean."  And then he proceeded to skip up my carpeted stairs to install the new thermostat.

Folks, I'm ashamed to admit I let it pass.

Up and down the stairs he went several times while I burned. All day yesterday I was bothered.  The irony here is that when that this company advertises that all their workers wear booties when in customers' homes.

I was bothered all day yesterday until I called the salesman and told him of my concerns.  He acted concerned.  He may be or not but one thing I have decided.

NO MORE.

You know folks, at this time of my life, THE END, I'm just tired of letting things pass that bother me.

The next time I someone enters my house and is either too lazy or too disrespectful of me to take their shoes off or put on booties over their shoes, they do not enter my house.

I don't like confrontation and unpleasant situations but I also don't like being disrespected, especially in my home, my sanctuary that both Bill and I work so hard to keep clean.

Have you ever gotten gas for your car?  The next time take a look at the ground beneath your feet.  Look at the spit, spilled gasoline, and cigarette butts.  All those germs and filth goes into your house. I think even more that bothers me is the disrespect.

I'm tired of the disrespect and will put an end to this particular form of disrespect.  Of course I will be continued to be disrespected in other aspects of my life but at my home, I can control.  And I will.

Why Not Trump?

Hey folks, you just know I couldn't stay away.  Oh how I tried.  My intention was not to post a blog until after my vacation in Canada at the end of the month. As you can see I didn't make my goal.  Oh well, not the first time I failed to reach my goal.

Well, lots going on around here folks. Today I had a new HVAC system installed in the house.  Oh yes, it costs Big Bucks.  A lot more than I planned when our "old" system gave out last week (freon leak).  It's been a frustrating day folks with lumberjack booted guys traipsing around our wall to wall carpeted house (so much for their advertisement of all their workers using "booties.") I'll write more about this stressful day later and the fact that we're poor again.  Remember, I'm not one of those Rich Gays.  Bill's been retired for thirty-one years and my last regular full-time job was ten years ago.  Fixed income folks with some extra "pin money" earned at my part-time job at the hotel.  But I'm not complaining.  Oh well, maybe whining a little bit because it just seems once I get a comfortable balance in my savings account something comes along to deplete it.  Oh well, I'm here, healthy, happy and have a wonderful relationship with not one but two very fantastic guys.  What more could an Old Gay ask for?

And as usual, I started this blog with one subject in mind and veered off into another direction.  But admit it folks, that's what you like about me, right?

The subject of this blog posting is Why Not Donald Trump?  I remember back when Ronald Reagan first ran for president.  There were all the dismissive comments such as:

"Oh he's just an actor and not a very good one at that."

"Reagan is an airhead."

That was just a few derogatory comments made about Reagan when he first made a bid for the presidency.  But you know folks, even back then I knew people were wrong about Reagan.  I saw what many people did not see, Reagan spoke for the people.  Did I agree with everything Reagan spoke about or believed?  Of course not.  But one thing about Ronald Reagan, he was authentic.
And this folks is why all those naysayers, all those self-appointed "experts", all those in the incestuous Washington Beltway Ruling Class are WRONG.

I like Donald Trump.  And a lot of people like Donald Trump.  Know why?  Because he says, and is not afraid to say so, what many of us are thinking.  And Trump is interesting.  Can anyone say that about Jeb Bush?  Or even Hillary Clinton?

Folks, I was going to vote for Hillary Clinton, being the Bleeding Heart Liberal that I am was. But you know what folks?  At the risk of losing whatever modicum of respect I have from my blog followers, I just may vote for Donald Trump. After all, George W. Bush was elected for TWO terms and this country survived . . . . albeit barely but we survive.  I daresay with Trump this country would do more than survive.

So I ask the Question:  Why not Trump?

More on the Dentist Lion Killer

Lots of activity around here folks!  Mostly me going out every hour and collecting Japanese beetles off of my knockout rose bushes.  They're easy to catch.  I just put the cup of soapy water beneath them where they're fucking having sex on a rose or and they drop to their soapy death. Imagine being waterboarding while you're having sex.  Have to admit, something I never thought of.

So what's with the butterfly on my zinnia plants at the beginning of this post?  Well, it's what I prefer to dwell on this beautiful, if hot and humid, Saturday morning, the first day of August, beauty.  While I'm observing and appreciating beauty, Dr. Walter Palmer, the Lion Killing Dentist from Minnesota is in hiding as one would expect of a coward.  Big man hunting big game.  As one of the late night comedians said, "If Dr. Palmer has an erection problem, we have other methods (Viagra) to address that problem.  He doesn't have to travel to Africa and spend $50,000 to shoot a tame lion."

Now you know when Betty White is pissed, you have a problem. And folks, don't feel one bit sorry for this pathetic excuse for a human being that Dr. Walter J. Palmer has demonstrated himself to be.

I am so glad I wasn't born with the gene to destroy. The gene to take. I appreciate the beauty that is all around us and how someone could destroy such a beautiful and magnificent creature like Cecil the Lion is almost beyond my comprehension. In fact, my only explanation is that this kind of person is not totally human because he lacks basic humanity.  And folks, people like this are all around us.  They're not just the stereotype of a criminal but like this dentist, pillar of the community with the sparkly white teeth.  Beneath that "clean" veneer is a monster folks, a monster.  All around us they lurk, just waiting for their chance to destroy innocent lives and "take."  And that term "take" is one thing that especially angered me.  Dr. Palmer "apologized" for "taking" Cecil the lion because he didn't know that Cecil was a "beloved" animal in the Zimbabwe National park.  Doesn't terms like "take" get to you?  Hey dirtbag, you KILLED Cecil the Lion, you didn't "take" him.

Last known picture of Cecil the Lion (standing) with is likely successor, "Jericho."

So the coward, Dr. Walter J. Palmer is now in hiding.  Already there is some backlash to the backlash that maybe vigilante justice went too far by demonstrating at his office.  Uh .  . . . . . no.  The shaming of this coward is appropriate for the crime he committed to satisfy his own outsized ego.  See here.

Coward Palmer with another one of his "takes", a grizzly bear

Not to dwell too much on this subject (can you tell I'm very upset about this whole thing?), but what did he do with Cecil's head?  Getting it stuffed now?  By the way, I heard his wife is a Big Game Hunter too.  Uh huh.  Some family.  Also, I heard that Dr. Palmer settled a sexual harassment suit brought against him by a former employee for over $130,000.  Surprised?  I'm not.

So Dr. Walter J. Palmer, the Twin Cities Star Dentist, joins America's former "dad", the sexual predator Bill Cosby as being one of the most despised Americans every.  They belong together.

Random Thought On A Rainy September Sunday

This morning I woke up to the usual rain and humidity we've been having here at Casa Tipton-Kelly for the last few months of summer. N...
