Blog Update - Where Have I Been?

Folks, I'm falling behind in my blog posts as perhaps regular followers of my blog have noticed.

The reasons for my tardiness are many and myriad but the fact remains, that I'm having trouble keeping up with regular blog posts.

I have so much going on in my life now that takes precedence over my blog posts.

One of the main reasons is that this is summertime and I have a lot of outside responsibilities. Most of this summer have been very hot and humid. Dragging myself through this summer has been exhausting with all the different problems that needed to be resolved.

And last but not least, I am Bill's caregiver which is taking my more and more of my time. I do not complain about being Bill's caregiver but it is time consuming at times. Thank goodness he is still mobile and able to take care of himself most of the time. Could be a lot worse and for which I am thankful it is not.

Another responsibility that has been consuming my time has been my job at the hotel. Even though I work part-time two days a week, I've been called on to work more than two days a week for the past six months filling in for my co-workers for their emergencies, of which there have been plenty this year including the resignation of a longtime full-time worker which required filling in for her and training her replacement.  Thank goodness that situation has calmed down, for now anyway.

In two weeks time I leave for my annual visit to my good friend Pat in Canada. I'm looking forward to taking a break from the summertime routine here. Of course I have to check in with Bill every day but I do have a chance to breath.

I am looking forward to summer ending and the autumn weather rolling in, providing some relief from all the gardening problems I've had this year.

In summation, if you don't see a regular blog posting from me, do not despair. I'll be back, eventually.

Good to hear that you and Bill are plugging along. Your blog is on my daily to-do list. I have a folder along with the top banner of my computer which reads "Victor's Daily's." In that folder has all the blogs that I regularly visit. Every day I just go down the list and read. You are at the top. Have a great rest of the summer.

I can fully understand your reasons for not posting, Ron. I always thought that when I got older I could relax and have more time to myself. Instead I seem to be busier and have more problems than ever.
Well, at least you have your upcoming visit with Pat to look forward to. And autumn isn't too far away (we'll finally be rid of this heat!)
Take care.

Have a great trip. Like my old boss used to say, look for me when you see me.

Have a great visit and try not to work too hard. You deserve a break.

Take care of yourself. Enjoy your posts, but your caretaking responsibilities must be exhausting. Have a great vacation. Give your mind and body a well deserved rest.

I'm flattered! You just made my day. Now I want to get back to blogging daily. I'll probably be back sooner than I planned. I've been blogging since 2005. I can never go away completely. Only when I die. I have a lot of ides for future blog posts. I'll be back. Thanks again for your kind and generous comment. You're a very kind person.

Jon,
You of all people know how it is blogging. I love blogging but sometimes I just have to take a break. I could never completely give it up though. And my apologies for being behind in reading blogs, which yours is.

Diana,
You're right, care taking responsibilities are exhausting. However, I am fortunate in that I have it easier than many other caretakers. Bill is mobile and still in stable mind although he is getting more confused at times. I can see the change. I just hope I can keep up.
I don't want anyone else taking care of Bill. He's comfortable with me. I want to keep his remaining years as stress free as possible and enjoyable for him.

Ivy Green,
Thank you! I will enjoy my trip, I always do when Pat and I get together. We don't do anything special, we just enjoy each other's company and he is so easy to get along with.

I'll still be here. Perhaps not as often but still here. At least until I die. I'll keep plugging.
