Trump's "Saturday Night Massacre"

Donald Trump, our national embarrassment

President Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey today.  He used the excuse of Comey's handling of the Hillary Clinton e-mail investigation. This is the same Trump who praised Comey's handling of the Hillary Clinton e-mail investigation. Folks, don't buy the latest Trump con. Trump fired FBI James Comey because Comey is investigation of the Russian ties to the Trump presidential campaign.

Folks, I remember well former president Richard M. Nixon firing all those prosecutors who were investigating Watergate ties to his White House. I voted for Nixon (twice) and believed Nixon until he showed his real hand by firing the prosecutors and shut down the special prosecutor's office. You students of history know how that ended.  And this is how Trump's presidency will end.

The blowback to Trump's heavy handed way of firing anyone who gets close to getting to the truth of the Russian ties to the Trump campaign.

Finally, this is the beginning of the end of the Trump presidency. Now to see how many Republicans, who up to now have been all too willing to look the other way of Trump's incompetence and breaking of normal rules of the presidency.

Folks, at best we have a con man as president.  At worst we have a criminal and a traitor as president.  Tonight is the beginning of the end for the Trump presidency.

One good thing will come out of this nasty and unsavory state of affairs, Trump and his supporters will see how American democracy works.

How does this latest stage of 'The Big Crumbling Chaos' fit in with the scenario of 'Draining the Swamp', Ron? Just wonderin'.

I was surprised that Obama didn't fire Comey last fall for the on-again - off-again email investigations. He certainly appeared to be so partisan that he couldn't competently do the job, talking about investigating Hilary while not mentioning that the agency was also investigating Trump - which side did he favor. If he was not partisan, he was terribly incompetent. He should have gone months ago.

I can only imagine how clever the top guys at the WH thought they were when they struck upon the idea to fire the guy doing the Russia investigation while blaming it on his treatment of Clinton.

Donald Trump is a master con man, I'll give him that. He has a lot of Americans believing his lies, even his big lies. I continue to be amazed at how many people are buying his snake oil.

Come should have been fired last year but this firing was because he was continuing the investigation as to the Russian ties to the Trump campaign. This is what Trump does, fire anyone who gets too close to the truth of what happened during the presidential election. The truth will eventually come out. No help from the Republicans in power though.

It may take a while but the Truth will eventually come out.

Oh yes, they thought they were being very clever. That's why they were so shocked with the blowback and the lights were on late into the night at the White House while they struggled to come up with new talking points.

From this distant perspective, Ron, I get the impression that his loyal band of followers are still clinging to him through thick and thin in the expectation that he's going to deliver on jobs above all - never mind that a lot of it will hasten the ruination of the planet, not just for us but for future generations. But, what the hell, right? If he fails to deliver on that promise (I see he's already been taking credit on 'creating' jobs that were in the Obama 'pipeline' anyway - 'scuse the expression) there's surely going to be a mass defection of supporters. Surely?
