Leg Injury Update - June 8 2015

Me at my doctor's office this morning

Early this morning I made a visit to my orthopedic doctor's office for my periodic update. 

He is very pleased with my progress.

He told me I need to work on bending my leg a bit more and also straightening out my leg but otherwise, he was very pleased with my progress.  

He gave me another doctor's note to continue my physical therapy which is helping me so much.

    1. Thanks David! I hope your experience with your physical therapy is as good as mine is. I just returned from a session a few minutes ago. I go again tomorrow and then again on Friday. I'm going to miss them when I'm all better and "graduate."

  2. Cause for celebration, Ron - at least as long as you can refrain from dancing around. Let's hope this is a further step to get you completely out of the woods.

      I don't think I'll be dancing next year at Oil Can Harry's in West Hollywood this coming January when Pat and I return for a visit. Maybe a few conservative moves on the sidelines but I'm not taking any chances of throwing my leg out again. Can you imagine if I injured my leg while we were in Hollywood? How would I get back on the plane with those cramped seats? Something to think about and ponder.

    Keep up the good work. Good living and genetics must have definitely played a role in your recovery. At our age recovery can be cumbersome and at times permanently incomplete. Keep doing whatever you are doing, it works.

      I'm eating a lot of Greek yogurt which I'm told has a LOT of protein which is good for the tissue regeneration. You're right about recovery at our age that it could be cumbersome and, at time, permanently incomplete. I still have s light limp which I hope will dissipate with more physical therapy but that I'm able to walk around on my own without the aid of a cane is just short of a miracle considering where I was at three months ago, almost a complete invalid.

    1. Thanks Geo. And yes, I am very careful when I walk and work. I've been warned by both my doctor (orthopedic) and physical therapist that if I "buckle" or twist my knee, I'm back to Square One and there is NO WAY I want to revisit that purgatory. I was so helpless and dependent on others to just survive (grocery shopping, doctor's visits, etc). This has been a real learning experience for me.

    1. Yes Jay, it's ALL GOOD IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD as my favorite T-shirt says which I got for only $4.00 in Walmart last year. Sometimes the best things in life are free and cheap.

    1. I'm almost there Pat and much of the thanks has to go to you for your support and patience. By the way, check out your announcing talents on that video. I think you could have a career announcing Pat. You're as good or better than most announcers we're subjected to.

    Positive is the only way to go! PT has really surprised me because I was dreading it but now it is the highlight of my day. I'm glad PT is working well for you too.
