Still Recovering

Me and Pat at the Veggie Grill in West Hollywood (Sunset Boulevard) - our favorite place to eat while we were in La La Land

Hey folks, I'm still recovering. I didn't realize how much this trip to California took out of me.  Yesterday I slept most of the day.  After breakfast this morning I hit the sack again.  And now, 3:10 PM in the afternoon I feel like another short nap.  Wow. I better rest up because I go to work tomorrow at the hotel and I have to be my brightest and cheeriest.

Today I am copying my 358 photos and videos that I took of my California trip to a flash drive.  Over 17 gigabytes!  Wowsie! And you can bet I'm going to share a lot of those photos and videos on future blog postings here.

Reviewing those those photos and videos are already bringing back fond memories.  Pat and I did a lot.  Oh yes, he was worn out too but right now he's hard at work as an extra on a Toronto movie set.

I'm taking Bill out for an early dinner in a couple of hours at our local greasy spoon.  Oh how I was ruined by the likes of the Veggie Grill in West Hollywood. Milton is no West Hollywood, that's for sure. Back to reality Ron.

But it is good to be home again. I'm appreciating the quiet.  No roaring traffic like there was at the bed and breakfast where we were staying in West Hollywood. That's all right for a short duration but I don't know if I could take it 24/7 for the rest of my life. But I did like the sunny weather, and easy accessibility of vegetarians eateries and all the fine shopping.  I'm trying not to complain here (but I am) but what do we have in Rehoboth?  Outlet malls, T-shirt shops and endless fund raising events.  God, the fund raising events.  Do they ever end?

I still haven't checked in on my two friends who are in dire health situations.  To tell you the truth I don't know what to say. "How are you doing?" just doesn't seem to cut it.  Plus, my one friend is very bitter about his situation and there is absolutely nothing I can do to help him. I always knew I would be a lousy nurse. So there it is.

Now to end this blog posting on a high note. Yep, I'm planning my next adventure for this May.  That's the secret folks, always have something to look forward to.

  1. After any long vacation like this, it always takes me several days to get back to normal. I think, just after normalizing sleep cycles, changing back to my "normal" diet is tough, and the insides tend to protest a bit.

Can't wait to see more of the pics!

    Peace <3

    1. Jay,
My insides are still protesting. They didn't like this disruption to their routine one bit. (smile)

Hi, Ron. Hope you can finally get rested up. I am looking forward to your pix and vids. Coastal SoCal is lovely to look at and visit, but I honestly can say I don't miss living there. The crush of so many people just psychically oppressed me, maybe like the summer influx there in LSD seems to do for you. I don't miss the traffic, either. I know you all are already planning on going back next year, and I'm sure there is still tons of fun left to be had in LaLaLand, but have you considered other SoCal locales (hahaha)? I think you would really enjoy San Diego and Palm Springs. They are within driving distance of each other. Or just do one next year and the other in 2017. Yes, Ron, I am telling you to live and be well through at least January 2017; I know you can do it with the right attitude (hahaha). Another possibility is to start in Sandy Eggo and use Amtrak to head up the coast to LA, Santa Barbara, Monterey, etc., however far you wanted to go. As you are a fan of old Hollywood and Pat seems interested in architecture, I bet you all would love seeing Hearst Castle. Hope you have a good shift at work. ~~ NB

    1. NB,
This is a definite possibility. I would love to see the old Hearst Castle. Bill and has seen it and extolled its wonders. I may just go to San Diego instead. We did miss driving up the coast. I would like to show Pat San Francisco also. So many possibilities, so little time.

San Fran is cool, but I wouldn't do NoCal in the winter, as far as a getaway from winter goes. Spring is nice, before all the summer tourists hit. ~~ NB

  4. So be prepared to be asked by someone if that was your brother they saw on a cinema screen.
I won't ask you where you're going in May (eke out the suspense!), but is there no Bloggerpalooza this year?

    1. Ray,
I'm not doing a Bloggerpalooza this year. I'm up for someone else doing it though. Although I greatly enjoyed last year's event, I cannot afford the expense again.

I have a very good friend that I look like. Funny thing is that he is younger than me by several years, but last time we were clocked as brothers he was asked if he was my older brother! I laughed, but he didn't. ~~~ NB

  5. I was wondering about bloggerpalooza as well and I understand about the planning and the expense. Hopefully someone else will do it. I was reading today's post about Ed. It is sad to see your friends "go away" little by little but I am glad you are in good health and still planning future trips. The whole West Coast is so beautiful. California misses you and Pat! (I do know where you are going in May. You did mention it in one of your posts).
