March Bloggerthon

Well folks, the date is fast approaching for the "March Bloggerthon", also known a the "Spotacular" or more conservatively known as the "East Coast Blogger Get Together".  This is your chance to meet Dr. Spo and Someone and other East Coast bloggers.

For those of you planning on attending please  click this link for more information about The Inn At Canal Square, in Lewes, Delaware; the site of the Bloggerthon. Please click our new video on our website to discover the unique charm of our quaint inn on the canal.

So far we have about twenty bloggers (and spouses) attending this event which will be held on the weekend of March 22nd and 23rd.  Saturday night, March 23rd we are having a meet and greet catered by Nage from 6 pm to 8 pm.  The cost per person is $25 which includes food and an open bar.  Yes, you heard right, an open bar.  Music will be supplied as well as a few surprises, including a visit by our nationally renown humorist writer Fay Jacobs.

For more information please e-mail me.  Hurry, if you're planning on attending, that time is fast approaching.  You don't want to miss this.

    1. Anne Marie,

Fay wants to come. Thanks for reminding me about her books. I'll ask her to bring some so she can autograph them for those who want to buy them.

  2. I have no doubt that the Bloggerthon will be a success and a memorable occasion. I clicked the link and visited the Inn. It definitely looks like a charming and inviting place.

As for Guy Madison - - does anybody remember his very first bit part in a film? He played a sailor in the 1944 mega-flick "Since You Went Away".
And he was so damn cute and hunky that he could have turned a straight dude gay......

    1. Jon,

My two all time favorite beauties: Hedy Lamarr and Guy Madison. I never saw his first movie but knew of it. I heard he was discovered while he was in the Navy. He was in the audience for some USO show or something like that. I can imagine he really stood out. Believe me if there is a Heaven, he'll be waiting for me.

  3. ron, for music - 60's motown (tops, temps, miracles, supremes, jackson 5). 70s disco & funk, 80s & 90s pop dance tunes (think madonna, culture club, wham, cher, abba). hell, throw in some 30s-40s big band sounds (think benny goodman, glenn miller, tommy dorsey).

what did you dance to/listen to back in the day? THAT WOULD BE GREAT!

    1. Anne Marie,

That's my kind of music! I'll make some playlists of those tunes. However, I think Dr. Spo likes opera. I may have to pass on that.

  5. (You might mention to your friend Nage that the music that starts up loudly and unexpectedly on his website - with no apparent PAUSE button - detracts greatly from his otherwise excellent presentation.

    1. Lar,

Gone but never forgotten Lar, he was my first big crush. I wanted to get everyone's attention and I think I did by posting his handsome face.

    1. Paul,

That's the same guy (actor) pictured in my blog, Guy Madison. He was a movie star of the late 40's and 50's. He was my first really big crush. I literally had trouble breathing when I used to watch him on TV playing Wild Bill Hickok. If there is a Heaven, he will be my date for eternity.

  8. Well, Ron, at least you now know how to make up our beds at the Inn when we attend Spo-a-Rama. Thanks to Sean (Just a Jeep Guy), we gave you our preferences on how we like to sleep in the TMI: I JUST WANNA GO TO SLEEP! I think you might need to stock up on extra pillows and turn the thermostat down! LOL.

    1. David,

I missed that. I"l have to check Sean's blog. I don't have it on my blog roll because of the non-family material that occasionally appears on it. By the way, we do have extra pillows and we certainly aim to please at the Inn. Your wish is our command.
