Ron's Sick!

Me at Brandywine Hospital April 14, 2002 after a kidney stone attack (with my Mom)

Hey folks!  I'm feeling a bit under the weather.  I feel my annual cold coming on.  I think I caught it yesterday from my FaceTime friend Larry.  He was sneezing and wheezing and coughing the whole time I was talking to him yesterday on FaceTime.  I just KNEW I would catch his cold!

My Friend Lar spreading his germs to me yesterday during out FaceTime session
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have some chicken soup for lunch and take my afternoon nap.

I'll be back when I'm feeling up to my usual ornery self.  Hang in there.

    1. Anne Marie,

I was hoping I would avoid getting a cold this year. Not happening. My whole body aches, my nose is starting to run and I am getting "that cough." I've seen this movie before.

I KNEW I would catch your cold! The other day when I was talking to you on FaceTime you were doing a LOT of coughing, sneezing, wheezing, and blustering. I KNEW I WOULD CATCH YOUR COLD!

  5. I knew you'd eventually catch something while cruising around the Internet (*smile*). I don't know if chicken soup has potent powers, but it's a lot less expensive than seeing a doctor. Hope you're feeling better soon!

I was hospitalized due to a kidney stone attack, too, and it was a nightmare. I can't remember exactly when it happened but it was at least fifteen years ago.

    1. Jon,

Chicken soup seems to work for me. I'm off to get some now.

Yes, wasn't that FUN with the kidney stone attack. I thought I was going to die. In fact, I was praying I would die, the pain was that great. I really didn't care. I just wanted the pain to stop. I've had two of these episodes so far. I hope I never have to go through anything like that again in my life. I was a mess.

Ron, Hope you're feeling better soon. And what ever you do stay out of the hospital, that's no place for someone who's sick! Randy.

    1. I'm feeling better already Randy. The Zycam I'm taking is really helping. And yes, I agree with you about staying out of the hospital. I hate hospitals. Can't get any rest in them and all that chance of getting an infection which happene do me when I was 17 years old. Almost killed me. I am very wary of hospitals, believe me.

  10. If Lar has so much "influence" through the computer, he is a powerful man to know (lol).
Feel better soon Ron. Lots of fluids and rest is my prescription. I hope you and Bill got your flu shot?

    1. Nadege,

That Lar does have a lot of power. I told him when I was talking to him on FaceTime NOT to pass his cold on to me. Damn if he didn't! "Lots of fluids and rest" and chicken soup is the best prescription. Thanks!

I hope you get well and to your old self soon, Ron! In saying that, may I make you aware, especially all U.S citizens of an important petition here:

    https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/officially-recognize-roman-catholic-church-hate-group/CZB81hWK?utm_source=wh.gov&utm_medium=shorturl&utm_campaign=shorturl

Which is to sign and help make the catholic church a hate group? The story I picked up on was here,

    http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2012/12/26/obama-petitioned-to-label-catholic-church-as-a-hate-group/

At the pink paper, UK edition. As a UK citizen we are barred from acting on this but I just wanted you American people to be aware that as well as that horrible WestBro chruch, that The pope and his church can be leghally known as a HATE GROUP. I personaly am not in any way big on politics, though human justice dfoes touch my buttons. Thank you for your time my friend.

    1. Brian,

Thanks for sending me this link. I had heard about it. I want to sign it. Also thank you for your good wishes. I think this cold/flu has a few more days to run. I get one every year. When I was young, I rarely got colds. Now, every year I get at least "one good cold" and several smaller ones whether I get a flu shot or not, which I do get every year.

Always, always do a" circle dot cootie shot" when you fear you may be infected with any sort of malaise. The vaccine is covered by your health insurance .
    Get well soon!

    1. A. Green,

Thanks for the advice but I don't know what a "circle dot cottie shot" is. I'll have to look it up on the Internet. I did get my flu shot this year. I get one every year but always seem to get the flu anyway. Thanks for the advice.

  13. Dr. Spo,

I took you advice and willed my cold away. I'm at work now and hanging on. Little big of sniffles and aches but managing. That two hour nao I took before I came to work today also helped.

    Ron,

Hope you feel good as new tomorrow! You sound like me before I retired, went to work when I was sick. Really had no choice as people need to be paid!

    1. Cindy,

I HAD to go to work last night. Wasn't too bad. Even though it was a Friday night, all the guests were behaving themselves and none were too needy. I loaded up with Zicam to keep my flu symptoms down so I would be coughing and sneezing at the front desk. My co-worker Robert is also sick. Of course this morning I woke up all achy again. Thankfully I don't have to go to work until Sunday night. Hope this is gone by then.
