Mid Summer Break

Hey folks, I think I'm going to take a few days off.  A mid summer break.  I've been neglecting some of my other fun things to to on the Internet like updating my Find a Grave account and my Ancestry.com account.

I'm not sure how long I will be gone.  Maybe a few days, maybe be a week.

I'll still be checking in on my favorite bloggers and leaving comments were appropriate.

This recent heat wave has really taken a lot out of me.  I feel like I'm trapped in the house.  I finally got out for a walk tonight, my first in a week.  That was only possible because we had a thunderstorm roll in this afternoon that cooled things off a bit, if only for a little while.  At the end of my walk tonight I could feel the humidity creeping back in with its strangulation around my neck.

In the meantime, talk among yourselves.

  2. No, I wasn' t planning on going to the state fair Cubby. I'm laying low the rest of the summer. I've had enough of the crowds and the heat.

  3. I tried to call you today to tell you I found 4 tumblers identical to my thermos! Now I have a set for serving guests cold drinks by poolside!

  4. As long as you don't forget us, you are allowed to a week (or two...) without us. Enjoy!

  6. Ron, I just got back from down your neck of the woods last night(5 days) and am just getting to visit blogs this morning.
I'm enjoying my break from writing and hating it at the same time. I know that I need to take it but something is pushing me to get back. And since I promised not to write until August, I should probably follow my own rule.
Take care and enjoy your break. m.

  7. Ron,

I will miss my daily reading, but I guess I can't complain. I just came off a spell of not posting anything myself. Get caught up and get rested so you can get back to this place.

  9. It's strange as I scrolled past your tile photo, I thought to myself "Tired in Delaware", and then I read your post.

Forget about that Grave account, just rest and you will be back in action soon I am sure.

Super! I love those tumblers. For years I had to contend with the mess of condensation now I don't have too. I also like lids. Plus, it keeps the drinks cold a long time! I'm glad you found a set. Enjoy!

  11. Nadege,

Not to worry, I will blog until I die. I'm just take a day or two off to update my Find a Grave account. I'm being surpassed by my competition. I would hate for all those pictures I took to go to waste. There are just not enough hours in the day.

  12. Tai,

I don't know what the name of the statue is but there were three of them in the garden of the Hirschorn Museum in Washington D.C. I thought me talking to the statue would make a cool picture. I'm always looking for that unusual shot.

  13. Mark,
You understand. I spend a lot of time on my blog and reading other blogs but sometimes I just have to take a break to catch up on all the other "fun stuff" I have to do. Plus, I have to recharge.

  14. Lar,

I want to catch up on posting some of my Find a Grave photos. I'm being surpassed by my competition down here. I always look forward to writing my blog but it does take a chunk out of my day. Especially when I'm working three days a week like aI did last week and this week.

  16. Jeff,

Actually, updating my Find a Grave account is relaxing for me. Some people play golf, some sew, I take photos of gravestones and post them to the Internet!
