Bloggerpalooza 2014 Now History

Debauched bloggers Pat, Ron, Randy, Tim, Fred, Sluggy and Jay at last night's Bloggerpalooza - Photo compliments of Mark H.

The second annual Bloggerpalooza is now history.  We ended yesterday with a buffet dinner at the hotel where I work in Lewes.  After dinner we were entertained by Marshall Manlove, comedy hypnotist.  That is the photo at the beginning of this entry which looks like we were engaged in all kinds of debauchery and chicanery.  I can only speak for myself but I will say that I am exhausted. Thank goodness these things only come around once a year.

As regular followers of this blog know, I have been uncharacteristically absent for the past few days.  The reason being that not only was I hosting the Bloggerpalooza 2014 event, I was also hosting my friend Pat from Toronto at Casa Tipton-Kelly.

This will be a short entry today, I'm still trying to put myself back together after the festive events of this past weekend, including a foolish decision on my part to go drag for the first time in one of my Old Time photos.  What was I thinking?  When I saw Dr. Spo test the waters of cross dressing I threw caution to the wind and followed in kind.  While Dr. Spo

easily transformed himself into a whimsical parody of an Old Time West dance hall gal, I came across as an old saloon madame rode long and hard.  Pat was so kind when he attempted to assuage my embarrassment to realistically portray a dance hall queen.  Thanks Pat.  You're very kind but I'm pretty sure that the plethora of female impersonators don't have to worry about making a place for me at their next show.

    1. Oh Cindy, I look HORRIBLE in drag. I made a BIG MISTÃ…KE. This was the first time I've dressed in drag since I was eight years old when I dressed up in drag for Halloween Trick or Treat. Everyone at the photo shoot yesterday also agreed that I looked like a Old Madam who was driven long and hard. Poor Pat, he'll never live down that photo of us together.

  6. Kudos to you Ron for such an ambitious endeavour. Hope you recuperate quickly over the next few days before heading off to work. Also a big thanks to guests who made the long pilgrimage. Sure was a lot of fun and great to meet so many whom you regularly see on post.

    1. Jon,
Yes, I do think I am quite fetching in purple. God, don't I look awful though? I always wondered what I would look like in drag, now I know and I'm not going to go there again. Blame it all on Dr. Spo. He choose a dress and looked pretty good so I thought I would replicate. Big mistake. I look like a whore whose been rode hard.

  8. Ron,
I am so so sorry that I couldn't make the trip north. Had my hair cut, the car gassed, the clothes washed and folded for the suitcase the directions printed out and then came down with what I thought was the shingles on the back of my neck. Very uncomfortable to say the least but not shingles, some mystery skin condition that is on my neck, legs, feet and hands. Don't know what it is but a trip to the dermatologist is scheduled for next week. Not being there only added to my already miserable weekend. Hopefully I can get there next year or just up there to meet you later in summer or early fall. I can use a break. I am so glad bloggerpalooza was a hit.

  9. Well if you weren't so darn worn out from pulling this shindig together, your stint as a "painted lady" might have been more pleasant for you.
And you had good company in the "lookin' silly" department anyway. lolz

"Oh I can't WAIT to see that video", she said rolling her eyes into the top of her head.

    1. Denise,
I'm working on getting the video posted to YouTube of hypnosis session. I just wish I had more time to take photos and videos myself but you can imagine how much time it takes herding cats. I'm ready for someone else to take over the organization for the next Bloggerpalooza.

    1. Denise,
I heard him fall. Talking to Pat later he said he felt very heavy and could not prevent himself from falling to the floor. This is the second time I've tried to undergo hypnosis but was unable to. My mind is too analytical I'm told.

    1. Hey Randy!
I'm so glad you came to the Bloggerpalooza. You know how to have a good time. Sorry I couldn't spend more time talking to you but running an event like this chews up a lot of my time. Have a safe trip back home to snowy Nebraska. You just missed the snow here in Delaware.

  12. Ron, you did another fantastic job with this year's blogger gathering. Congratulations on a job well done! You're the best! As far as you're appearance in drag, you definitely make a great brothel madam. You have what it takes to keep the customers happy!

    1. Thank you Cubby. However, I definitely think I made a big mistake dressing in drag. Have you ever seen an uglier drag queen? My God what was I thinking? Spo pulled it off, I was just sad. Oh well, first time I've been in drag since third grade when I was ten years old.
